Remember anything about this system?
I was just reading about the videogame adaptation of White Men Can’t Jump that was made for it. It wasn’t good.

Aside from "Alien vs Predator" & "Tempest 2000" it was a poor console with a shit pad.
And the CD add on that only god himself could get working

Came out when I was at the height of my gaming fandom, and I don’t remember ever reading about a game that made me think “this is definitely worth saving six months worth of lawn mowing money for”. Lack of a killer app doomed it from the gate.

If it did anything positive, it got people to finally shut up about bits.

SPent way too much money to own a Jaguar and the CD add on back when they were the current gen. AvP and Tempest are both damn good games. It does have a huge homebrew commnunity now. And a few finished but never released games have gotten limited releases. But not worth getting into unless you want to spend big money to play 5 or 6 games total.

Hell look at how much the AVGN had to spend to get a working CD one. Hell the pong system was a better value

Hell bet you have a better value with Sega CD. At least you got Sonic CD And Snatcher (Granted I played a bootleg version since getting a copy over here for a decent price is nigh impossible) Also those crap FMV games have some charm

Sega CD at least has some good games, like Snatcher and Sonic CD. I can't really think of anything on the Jaguar that was all that good.

I was around back then and the only thing I ever knew about it was reviews of games on it in Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, but none of them ever seemed exciting enough to want a Jaguar. Even so, I never saw one in a store, but it wasn't alone, the same goes for other consoles from that era like Neo Geo, 3DO, CDi.
I knew one person that had Sega CD, but I never played it. My teacher one time had everyone to her house and her son had a TurboGrafix, which was the only time I ever saw that as a kid. But Jaguar, I remember asking some of my classmates about it, but I never knew anyone that had ever heard of it outside of myself back then.

So I never had the system. However, I was reading some magazine that had the game catalog two things struck out 1) That Aliens vs Predator game sounded awesome and 2) Being the horny teenage boy I was I needed to see the game marked as adult, Plumbers don't wear ties.
Of course, now I see AVGN episodes/game footage and I can't get over how rough AVP looked compared to the arcade game and how much Plumbers don't wear ties sucked.
What was with Atari and the number pad? It was like they were planning some kind of phone attachment with those damn things.

To get AVP on a console during that period was really a great thing.
