If this match happens would it be bigger than Cena/Rock? I think so. Even with Taker losing twice at Wrestlemania, this match is still huge draw. It feels like the match that the WWE has been teasing from us for the past decade. I mean it would probably not be the greatest match given Takers age, but the atmosphere and buildup could be great.

I'm willing to admit the crowd were hot for it on Monday and will be hot for it at WM, but nah. I just don't see it. Taker is a legend and all, but he's not The Rock.

Even if it'd happened when it should've, not quite. It still would've been huge, but the Rock match had massive mainstream appeal that got a lot of people's attention.

No, Taker minus the streak at Mania with his diminished skills make this pretty pedestrian in my opinion. It's probably the best they can do with these guys now but I'm not pumped for it.

Nah. Rock/Cena 1 was everything you hoped it would be between atmosphere, intensity, the general in ring work etc...
It will surpass Rock/Cena 2 that's for sure

Not even close. Rock being who he is at the time took it to a completely other level.

Crowd will be into it, but it won’t be anywhere near the Cena/Rock matches as a casual draw.

Cena vs Unbeaten Taker about 5 years ago would have been an an amazing atmosphere. I really haven't cared about Taker matches since he lost and the guy looks borderline crippled. I'd be scared he might get really badly hurt. Cena's lost his aura too now. I'm not into it.

Let me check the calendar, nope it's not 2008, so, no chance.

No chance it is bigger than Cena/Rock. Taker isn't unbeaten at WM anymore and Cena has basically been on a downward trend of late as well, so really this match is one that had a sell by day of about 4 years ago.

It would have is there was a streak involved which it's not so the aura of the match is gone. Sure still a match to see but not nearly what it was or should have been. WWE wasted the chance of being huge money not saying it not but it would be a much larger deal with the streak.

Not remotely. I didn't even personally care about Rock / Cena but there's still no denying how big a spectacle it was. Taker / Cena at this point is pretty pedestrian, barely anything separates it from other part timer throwdowns in the past like Lensar / Triple H.

Nah, son. Maybe when Taker wasn't way past his prime (and an intact streak) and Cena was in the middle of his. But now? I really can't see it.

nah. There's absolutely no zest for this match. If Undertaker didn't "retire" last year, than maybe it would be different.

There wasn't that much heat for Lesnar/HHH.

This isn't even remotely close to an opinion based thing. Anyone who says Taker/Cena is delusional. Rcck/Cena is one of the biggest of all time, without question. It was one of the few WM matches that ONLY could have happened at a Wrestlemania. Cena/Deadman Taker happened on an episode of Smackdown in Summer of 2004 and RAW in fall 2006. Its not even close. They're miles apart in importance.

I hate to give this style of booking credit, but the year-long buildup to the rematch kinda forced the Cena/Rock feud to be extra...ordinary. While in this Taker/Cena feud it is basically being treated as Cena's assgrab last-ditch effort to stay relevant in the WWE, and same with Undertaker who's lost the last 2 times at 'Mania and hasn't been seen on TV since a random RAW appearance at the other arena where the main RAW crowd wasn't even at (25th anniversary B-stage). The buildup of a match matters, even if it's some ridiculous yearlong cock tease it's obviously going to wind up having a better payoff than some meaningless match between two guys after all other options have been exhausted.
Now if this were an 'I Quit the WWE' match, ala the Johnny Wrestling/El Idolo 'I Quit NXT' match... it might be better than Jericho/Omega's similar "throw two huge stars in a ring together for no reason" lighting-in-a-bottle.

It wouldn't have been even if it'd happened when it should have, pre-Streak break.
And now, no, definitely not. Big but not bigger than Cena-Rock.
Heck, arguably Cena-Rock NOW would actually be bigger than Cena-Rock back then.

It’s about five years past it’s sell by date. Now, Cena losing isn’t a big deal and Taker has already lost twice. It’s a wasted opportunity that will be good to see but really could have been monumental.
