By this, I mean what are qualities of food that don't really matter that much, but for some reason you HAD to have it that way...or not?
Example...as a kid I thought white cheese slices were better than orange. There really isn't that much difference but somehow, younger me found the white slices tasted better?
And I know holiday shaped Snickers, Reese's, etc. are just the regular old candy bar you can get 365 per year, but again I MUST have them. (well in the case of the Reese's, they are not as thin as the standard PB cup...)
Frosted Flakes I love, but since getting a mini box from my family's Cancun trip, I NEED to have Zucaritas.

I prefer corn flakes after that milk has made it moist so it's less crunchy.
I preferred Burger King chicken tenders to McDonalds nuggets as a kid because they weren't as spongey.

Skyline Chili seems to be mostly nutmeg in flavor. Nasty. Almost everyone I know prefers Gold Star to Skyline. While I can definitely taste a difference, my preference between the two is Skyline but only by about a 51:49 ratio when it comes to the 3-ways, etc. Oddly, when it comes to coneys, I definitely prefer Gold Star for some reason. Price Hill Chili bests both of them, I just live too far away to visit that often.

I'm ridiculously salt sensitive. This past weekend I finally got to try out Taco John's (good tacos, yo). For some reason my order came with a side of tater tots, which tasted more like potato-flavored salt. When i get them at Perkins they don't salt them, and they'll cook them extra crispy if I ask. Most fast-food places I have trouble finding something that isn't fast-food-flavored salt.

Texture, more so than flavor, tends to be the issue with stuff I don't like
Off the top of my head tomatoes I hate tomatoes but have no problem with like tomato sauce.
