Who would of played Kane if they got rid of him mid Yankeem/Fake Diesel run? They probably had the idea for awhile and was looking for someone. It's hard to imagine anyone else playing him. The only guy I can think of is Bryan Clark/Adam Bomb, but he was with WCW at the time.

F***, it probably would have been, like, Kurrgan or something. As such, Kane wouldn’t have made it to 1998, let alone 2018.

Wasn't there talk about bringing in Raven to play Undertaker's brother. Not sure he would have gone by the name Kane.

I don't think Kane would have existed if not for Glenn Jacobs. The role pretty much required a guy of similar build, stature, and skillset to Undertaker, and the world isn't exactly flooded with people who fit that description.
(and imagine if they got Chainz to try it again)

Literally only Glen Jacobs could have made that role work. It's pure 100% wrestlecrap. Hell, Jacobs career is turning Wrestlecrap into relative gold. Playing a 7 foot tall dentist? Have a great match with Bret Hart. Play pretend Kevin Nash. Find out you have 20 mins in a Rumble and really bring your working boots. Katie Vick? Fire starting? Dude could survive anything that would kill any other career.

Wasn't there talk about bringing in Raven to play Undertaker's brother. Not sure he would have gone by the name Kane. This was the rumor at my school after his debut in 2000. Raven was going to be involved in the backstory between Kane and Undertaker. One kid was adamant that Raven would be revealed to be Undertaker's real brother and Kane was to have been a brainwashed imposter. Instead we got Raven and Tazz teaming up because they were in ECW together.

I think EoE is right; it'd probably just been a random big lug, and Kane would've been exactly what the gimmick was intended to be in the first place - give Taker something to do for several months then fade into the background. People always shit on the Bret match and I've yet to figure out why. I rewatched it last year and found it to be really underrated. I don't know why they did, because most people have that pegged as a surprisingly decent bout given the bad gimmick and Jacobs still being very green at the time.

I think I'm actually looking forward to Kane's HOF speech more than I am Takers.

I think I'm actually looking forward to Kane's HOF speech more than I am Takers. Kane's entire induction could be "I've seen some shit, trust me" *video montage of all his gimmicks and terrible stories* and it would be a Top 5 of all time.

When I heard the Kane rumors I was hoping it’d be Mike Awesome. But was never really sure why.

Paul Bearer shoot interview that I just listened too told the story. That Taker and Paul had the idea for a brother but where looking for that guy to play him. Glenn was in SMW and Taker went down there and worked a match with him, As the Unabomber They had a match, Taker looked at Paul after the match and they both where like, that's the guy. The time frame was before guarantee deals was much a thing, it was just starting. So I don't think it matter if Glenn was under contract or not because Glenn didn't have to be recalled back but if Taker and Paul wanted him, I think Vince wouldn't said No.

Brian Lee, he was one of taker's best friends and had spent time studying how to be taker-like due to the underfaker storyline.

The endgame for Glenn Jacobs was always the Kane character.
