And the biggest mismatch in recent years has been confirmed: I don't know about that. Lionheart is pretty goddamned good and I can definitely see him holding his own.

Dana says he won't give Cyborg a rematch because the fight was so decisive. Joanna, Cody, Ronda all get immediate rematches, but the woman who was undefeated for 136 months, was untouchable, and the most feared person in MMA, doesn't deserve one. Carny Dana gonna carny. I mean he'd have a point if he wasn't handing out title shots to everyone. Ronda got her ass whooped but when she decided to return she got a title shot. When/if McGregor returns you can assume he will get a title shot as well
He does this with people he don't put the bandwagon behind. Stipe didn't get a rematch. Doesn't seem Mighty Mouse will get one and I bet you if Woodly lost the title he wouldn't get one either
As I said I agree with the overall point of if you lose decisively you shouldn't get a rematch BUT he tends to break his own rules a lot
Dana is the worst at breaking his own rules. Dana: We want guys who finish fights, who the fans can get behind. Prime Roy Nelson: I can finish fights and the fans lov.... Dana: MAN, f*** you Roy Nelson! Nobody was talking to you.

Also, Woodley is my favorite fighter rn and maybe the P4P best in the world right now, and they put him in a fight I have no interest in watching. Not that Colby would beat him, but there is no upside whatsoever to this fight.

Not that Colby would beat him, but there is no upside whatsoever to this fight. Usman is frighteningly good and is the biggest threat to Woodley in my opinion. Woodley's best chance is to play keep-away like he did with Maia but Usman may bot give him that chance.

I must admit, and I f***ing hate the goober, but this is some bullshit for Covington. And I suspect Ali bent some folks' ears on this one to get Usman in there.

Smart man. He's figured out one of Dana's biggest soft spots. Meantime, Women's Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas vs. Jessica Andrade is on for UFC 237 in Brazil in May.

The Tenshin response to Connor is adorably polite. But 58kg?

Granted, he's made a TON of money in the business, so who the F am I? LOL

So Colby is mouthing off, but Usman was "more willing" than him in taking the fight? If true (and who knows if it really is), that says all you need to know about Covington.

Colby might have an argument if he hadn't pulled out of the fight once already. Plus, discount Chael at best. At least Sonnen always seemed like his assholery was real, Covington has always been a cartoon character. He never shoulda had the fake interim title in the first place. That was just Dana & co f***in with Woodley, which is dumb because Tyron should be one of the main faces of the UFC right now. Colby is a good fighter but not that interesting, and without his clown show he's got nothing of value entertainment wise..which makes how obviously fake his act is even goonier.

Woodley is an amazing fighter, but he’ll never be a face of the UFC. Dana thinks he sucks at promos and puts on boring fights and...he’s not wrong. The best microcosm of this was his post-fight interview after defeating Maia. He stumbled over his words calling out GSP for a fight at MSG with all the confidence of a Blockbuster store manager in 2010. Dana had a look on his face afterward like, “Nah dog.” I like Woodley though. The only way a fighter like him is going to retain against Maia is a borefest. Likewise not everyone can be a good promo. He’s done himself no favors though by continuing to pick fights with Dana. He also doesn’t have the charisma to come off like a bad boy by doing such that a Sonnen or Mcgregor has.

Oh he's not electrifying no question. I just mean he's reliable and an excellent fighter so should be a cornerstone but ain't. You're spot on as to why

Those early KOs he had in the UFC were awesome and he knocked out Lawler in the 1st round to win the title and beat Till in impressive fashion. His problem is he can really have stinkers more often than not.

JDS vs. Derrick Lewis headlines the March 9 Fight Night event in Wichita. As much as it seemed like JDS went through a cold spell, in fairness he was losing to top talent like Stipe, Overeem, and Velasquez 2x
Lewis can't come in their lazy
