My nephew loved Bobby's World. Absolutely loved it. Then he had a nightmare where Bobby's head grew huge then cracked open and monsters came out. He stopped watching it after that. Anyone remember Ronin Warriors and Mummies Alive? Used to love those. I have the box set of Ronin Warriors stashed away, snagged it for $20 at Gamestop when they were still selling DVDs.

God, so many. Ironically, regarding Mighty Orbots, that’s getting a DVD release thanks to Warner Archive.
Inhumanoids was great, Turbo Teen was fun, Pirates of Dark Water. Here’s an obscure one from Nickelodeon - Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea. Kind of forgotten compared to Mysterious Cities of Gold, but good in its own right as well.

I need that! Also, I was a fan of Visionaries, both the figure line and the cartoon. I was such a sucker for holographic stickers as a kid, and they implemented them into the figures perfectly.

Seconded, any cartoon that did a full on satire of the Ice-T "Cop Killer (Song)" controversy deserves all the props it can get.

A show that was cancelled well before it should have been.

A show that was cancelled well before it should have been. Yeah, but I'd be hard pressed to call it "rarely discussed". Heck, there are portions of the internet that won't shut up about it.

Am I the only one that remembers Blackstarr? It was made by Filmation. And it is a prototype for the He Man cartoon. It only had one season, that was aired for 2 years. It came out on DVD during the dying days of BCI. So the DVD set is a bit harder to find.

I didn't see it when it first aired (I was a little too young for it at the time), but I rented the DVD's from Netflix about ten years ago. I was actually really looking forward to it. I'm always a big fan of He-Man, and I rented the Filmation Flash Gordon set from Netflix earlier and was very impressed with it, so I thought Blackstar would be a natural fit. Man was I disappointed in it. It had none of the colorful charm or fun that He-Man had, and also had none of the epic storytelling that Flash Gordon had. All the characters were very bland and I just found it boring. But hey, since I mentioned it anyways, let's throw Filmation's Flash Gordon onto the list as well. Had a remarkably complex plot and storytelling for a cartoon in 1979. At least the first season did.

Had a remarkably complex plot and storytelling for a cartoon in 1979. At least the first season did. I just recently got the first season of the Filmation Flash Gordon cartoon cheap at a yard sale. That is one I watched as a kid and loved. Looking back I watched a bunch of Filmation stuff as a kid. Their Tarzan show was great. I loved their Zorro cartoon and their late 70s Batman cartoon with Batmite. Another cartoon that seems to be forgotten is Saturday SuperCade. I think it only aired for 2 seasons. And for years there was only one episode out in the collector's circles. Plus thanks to Boomerang airing them all the episodes of Space Ace. I am sure getting the rights to release it now would be a pain in the ass. But with how hot retro video games are now I am surprised no one has tried to at least do a limited run DVD release.

You know, I remember the show, but barely remember anything about it, but does Pirates of Dark Water still hold up?

You know, I remember the show, but barely remember anything about it, but does Pirates of Dark Water still hold up? It does for me. But then I only saw a few episodes when it was airing.Wasn't until the early 2000s that I found sumguy at a con selling the full run on DVD-rs.
