They have to be considered one of the greatest single season teams in history. 108 wins then defeating two 100 win teams just to get to the Series and then defeating a great Dodgers team. So many great performances this year. From Mookie to JD, Benintendi to an emerging stud in Devers. Then there were the performances you couldn't have expected. From Pearce and Eovaldi (both trades coming in under the radar, thanks Dave Dombrowski) coming up huge in huge spots to JBJ making his only 3 hits in the ALCS count to Brock Holt becoming the first player ever to hit for the cycle in the Postseason to Chris Sale giving his all despite clearly being hurt. And the bullpen, which everyone figured would be their Achilles heal stepped up big (despite some heart attack moments from Kimbrel). Hell, I demanded Cora be fired if he even thought about pitching Joe Kelly and all that guy did was be unhittable. And what else can be said about David Price? No one has endured as much scrutiny as that guy. Many didn't want him starting or even on the roster but when the Sox needed him most he shed his choker label and became the pitcher we all knew he could be. Short rest or out of the bullpen it didn't matter he was amazing. And who can forget about Cora? A first year manager came in got the best out of everybody and pushed all the right buttons in the postseason and gave Sox fans a season to remember. I heard it on NESN's coverage of the celebration but it bears repeating in the past 15 years Sox fans have gone from cursed to blessed. Parade is on Wensday, get the Duck Boats ready. Two things.... 1) I remembered when we traded Steve Pearce, I was pissed and immediately knew my team would be tanking. Yeah, it was an early one before they were more open about tanking, but I knew then this team was done. 2) Despite the jokes I do make at Dave Price's expense and I still think you paid WAY too much for the guy, I'm kinda happy he finally shed that label too. Just make sure those Duck Boats don't capsize though. Cold weather normally equals rougher waters, if it isn't iced up.

Regression to the mean is going to be brutal for the Red Sox next year. They’ll probably regress, just like the Pats do...... oh wait?

Congratulations to JD Martinez for pulling a Durant- basically join the team that already had everything they needed and became an embarassment of riches and won a title

The luckier team won

Can't wait to listen to sports radio tomorrow. "They not as good as everyone thinks, Mike. Their record isn't as impressive as it looks. Everyone else in baseball just sucked, Mike. It's a fake win!" Mazz was wrong about a lot of stuff this year. He can bite me

The better team did not win. The luckier team won Win 108 games in the regular season, lose only 3 total in the postseason, basically run through the playoffs, and somehow they're not the best, they're only lucky? Look mate, I'm all for hating on the Red Sox, but dude, you gotta give them credit this season. They were the best team in the majors.

The better team did not win. The luckier team won They won 108 games and beat 2 100+ win teams to reach the World Series but sure, they weren't the better team. Why don't you go sit in the corner and sob into your Scott Norwood jersey while conjuring up your next ridiculous take

All it took was 226 million dollars, Cora sacrificing everything to the baseball gods, and throwing a dump truck of money at JD Martinez, but the Red Sox actually did it. And the Dodgers are a small market team that doesn't spend a lot...... oh wait

They played New York New York in the locker room during the celebration lol. Love this team, beating the Yanks on the way to the World Series title sure was sweet. This feud is the Dusty Rhodes/Ole Anderson of sports. The Stratosphere is Reserved for The Yanks and the Sawks. And......con...con..... congratulations.

The Sox were the best team in baseball this entire season and they continued that trend in the postseason. Love them, hate them or don't care, you really can't deny what they did this year.

Congratulations to JD Martinez for pulling a Durant- basically join the team that already had everything they needed and became an embarassment of riches and won a title WRONG!!! They needed JD to be that big bat missing piece they immediately missed once Big Papi retired The biggest unkempt secret was JD and Boston was perfect for each other

Regression to the mean is going to be brutal for the Red Sox next year. They’ll probably regress, just like the Pats do...... oh wait? I mean saying they are going to regress is not some big leap of logic when they won a franchise record 108 games and was the best team majority of the season Regressing for them next year is fighting the Yankees again for the division and maybe ending up as a wildcard team with 95 wins Still a dangerous team no doubt who will look to keep it going for a repeat

So I wonder how long Kershaw keeps going before his spirit is completely broken?
The man is a beast in the regular season when it comes to pitching.
The playoffs? Not so much.

Yesterday, the Cleveland Cavaliers fire coach Ty Lue.
Today, the Cleveland Browns fire coach Hue Jackson.
If I'm Cleveland Indians coach Terry Francona, I just wouldn't answer my phone at all tomorrow.

He's not seen as much a "choker" anymore in the playoffs thanks to last year and decent performances this year but yeah their is a stark contrast between regular season Kershaw and playoff version
I'm sure Dodgers don't want to have to give up that $200M for 7 years but they going have to bite the bullet despite Kershaw having an ailing back and not pitching over 170 innings in like 3 years

Regression to the mean is going to be brutal for the Red Sox next year. They’ll probably regress, just like the Pats do...... oh wait? Yeah this isn't a repeat of the 2013 Red Sox team that was carried by average players all having career years at the same time, with the team falling back to Earth (aka last place in the AL East) the very next year. Betts is a superstar and Martinez is one of the best sluggers in the majors, with a lot of other talent on the roster between the batting order and the pitching.
I expect Pearce to fall back to Earth (though I don't know his contract status), but otherwise they've got the talent to compete for quite some time. It's going to be a hell of a race in the AL East between the Yanks and Red Sox the next few years.
