I thought Deaner won the Knockout championship, but not quite. He pinned one of the Beautiful People in a tag match, and the idea was that meant ODB won the title, but Cody argued that by all rights, he should get it. It was held up for a bit until ODB beat him in a match and was given the title, but I don't know if it was considered vacant in that time, or retroactively ODB was champion all along.

I think at one point they could have done it convincingly with Kong as long as they were sensible with her opponents, keep her away from the real giants/jakked like Lashley and Carter perhaps but she could have hung with most of the roster in terms of power. She should certainly have gone over Jessie Godderz in that title tournament. The best point to do it though was several years previous to that when they briefly teased a Kong/Kurt Angle storyline, that was of course before Gail had effectively killed most of Kong's mystique.
Speaking of which Gail would have never worked and would have made her even more hated today if she had gone over the men, whereas Kong looks a believable threat, Gail never looked anything more than a body that most of the men could snap in half if they were so inclined. She could perhaps be believable in the X-Division but wasn't capable of hanging with those guys technically

I'm pretty sure he and ODB were the last champs, but I honestly don't remember if they were stripped of the titles, or if TNA booking just kind of forgot about them. If the latter was the case, I guess he'd still be a champ. Which reminds me, Rey Mysterio is still a WCW Cruiserweight Tag champ along with Kidman, and Ezekiel Jackson is still ECW Champ. The Wikipedia says — Eric Young and ODB — March 8, 2012 This episode aired on tape delay on March 8, 2012. — Vacated — June 20, 2013 Title vacated by Knockouts Division Executive Brooke Hogan due to Young being a male talent. — Deactivated — June 27, 2013 Title was deactivated and its profile was removed from the ImpactWrestling.com website. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TNA_Knockouts_Tag_Team_Championship#ReignsSo if correct, they did nothing with it for over a year, Knockouts Division Executive Brooke Hogan vacated it, and the title went inactive one week later. That sounds like a TNA thing to do. I just like the idea that it took them a year to realize eric young was a male talent and so couldn't hold the women's tag titles.
