...the World Title on a woman.
With the way that TNA always liked to shock the world and break and shatter stuff figuratively, I wonder if they ever thought of doing this. Yes, there were women in that 2015 World Title tournament they did, though that was mostly because they struggled to fit 32 people in it. Even if for a month or 2 weeks or so, it still would be historic.
Not sure when the right time would been for it exactly, but with all the times Awesome Kong was there, she coulda pulled it off.

Suicide wins the title and unmasks to reveal that it was Dixie all along. Could have been bigger than the nWo.

I remember at her peak, there was some talk about putting the title on Kong.

I remember at her peak, there was some talk about putting the title on Kong. She was a huge monster in the knockouts division so they put her in a goofy men’s tag tournament with guys like Matt Morgan & Billy Gunn towering over her effectively killing her monster aura making her feel less special after that any talk of her being a threat to men was over unless it was a comedy match with someone like former knockouts champion Cody Deaner.

They did the opposite once, Eric Young was a Women's Tag Champion.

They did the opposite once, Eric Young was a Women's Tag Champion. Couldn't be much more TNA really. The enlightened option: put your heavyweight title on a woman. The corrupt-a-wish option: put a women's championship on a man.

They did the opposite once, Eric Young was a Women's Tag Champion. Did they ever strip him of that or is he still a Tna Women’s tag champ?

They could sign Isis the Amazon for this. It would get attention.

They did have that crazy ass tournament a few years ago in which everyone, women included was entered into it. I believe they tried to even tease Gail or Kong can go against a man but that never happened
It was a complete f***ing mess in which EC3 won if I remember correctly

I'm pretty sure he and ODB were the last champs, but I honestly don't remember if they were stripped of the titles, or if TNA booking just kind of forgot about them. If the latter was the case, I guess he'd still be a champ. Which reminds me, Rey Mysterio is still a WCW Cruiserweight Tag champ along with Kidman, and Ezekiel Jackson is still ECW Champ.

The Wikipedia says — Eric Young and ODB — March 8, 2012 This episode aired on tape delay on March 8, 2012. — Vacated — June 20, 2013 Title vacated by Knockouts Division Executive Brooke Hogan due to Young being a male talent. — Deactivated — June 27, 2013 Title was deactivated and its profile was removed from the ImpactWrestling.com website. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TNA_Knockouts_Tag_Team_Championship#ReignsSo if correct, they did nothing with it for over a year, Knockouts Division Executive Brooke Hogan vacated it, and the title went inactive one week later. That sounds like a TNA thing to do.

Wasn't there some sort of idiotic rule that Spike or DA had that said they wouldn't have women fighting men because they didn't want to glorify man on woman violence? But then they went ahead with the #ItHappens bullshit regardless.

I listened to EY's talk on Edge and Christian's podcast and he said since he basically had a year off while still on TV (being champ with ODB)it extended his career out tremendously since he wasn't taking any bumps or anything.

Wonder which woman they would of done it w... oh yeah, Gail Kim. People might laugh at the "ha ha Gail Hogan" thing...but seriously, why not? She was such a Black Hole Sue for the women's division that it was clear she had the kayfabe accomplishments to buy "she's against the men because of talent" (unlike Kong, where it was "she was against the men because she's so big" which would never succeed). Gail Kim's retirement angle being her going to the World Champion or title committee and saying "I just want ONE CHANCE to see if I could have held the men's World Title before I retire- please give me a shot at the men's World Champ before I retire" would have been hated, but would have been an interesting storyline and a natural finish instead of "lol who cares about the story, gotta get mine."

knowing TNA, if they'd have had anybody do it, it would have been ODB.
...scratch that.
They'd have put the belt on AJ and then had Daniels interfere so Claire Lynch could win it off of him.

But then they went ahead with the #ItHappens bullshit regardless. Yeah, Spike demanded no intergender wrestling because they didn't want men hitting women on their channel. Then #ItHappens occured despite those warnings, and it was shortly after that the 'leaked' Russo email scandal happened (after Spike told said not to rehire Russo) and Spike said "f*** it, you're out of here". The Dixie table spot played a large part in them getting bumped off the network.

I feel like that could have been a storyline that would have actually won some people over to her side. Everyone was hating Gail Hogan by a wide margin, and there certainly would have been a lot of people who would have scoffed at the idea of a woman challenging a man for the title, but really, some would have appreciated her having the guts to lay down the challenge as the last accomplishment of her career, to do something that no woman has done in TNA, especially if they did it the way you described it. It could have also been a nice story for the Knockouts, and even if she didn't win, if she had a hell of a match, it'd send a great message to the Knockouts that they could hang as athletes.
