Conrad was extremely annoying on this week's episode. Him yelling at Bischoff about the Sting/Hogan finish was cringeworthy. It made me find Bischoff extremely likable. Conrad's fake yelling sucks. Dude bought into his own hype and thinks he is the star of these shows now He’s been that way since he started doing Flair’s podcast when nobody knew who he was you’d have Ric & his guest telling great stories and then Conrad would interrupt them to make it about him when zero people wanted to hear what he had to say.

Starrcade episode was pretty great. Eric came across amazing, and you can hear the hurt from Conrad whenever Eric would go into Meltz. Loved it.
Do hate the Conrad yelling stuff, kinda sucks that came over to this show too.

Do hate the Conrad yelling stuff, kinda sucks that came over to this show too. Part of the Conrad problem is he can't decide what kind of host he wants to be so he straddles them all and badly. I hate to quote myself but this was from earlier this year I the STWW thread... I'm just an insurance guy and a fan just like you. Unless, it seems I disagree with something and try to come over all hard ass freedom fighting journalist. Now here is some forced comedy. Oh and if people disagree with me, then I'm just a fan trying his hardest again. I prefer the network show SO much more than the podcast because they have an editor and probably a producer but I just wish Conrad would pick what kind of host he wants to be and stick to it.

I can’t bring myself to listen insider stuff on Starrcade 97. That’s why I didn’t listen to Schiavone talk about it either. In my opinion it’s the most destructive ppv ever.

Eric is back to his absolute whiny worst in the Starrcade 97 show. I'll be giving it a miss again for a while.
Sidenote: I'm surprised by how much they've plugged the Nitro book on the show previously. Having now read most of it, it paints Bischoff in a bad light and makes him sound like a maniac. Apparently in the late 90s he wanted to fake his own death in a plane crash for a storyline - wonder if that's where Vince got the idea from 😅

I rewatched the Starcade 97 main event and it exposes Bischoff for being a moron. There was nothing wrong with Sting. He looked good, did all his moves, didn't blow up. It was 100% Hogan being a politician and screwing with the finish.

It was 100% Hogan being a politician and screwing with the finish. Conrad said that Meltzer seemed to think the same thing Bischoff said, at least as far as his appearance went. He did look smaller and more pale. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the issues Sting was having at the time played a part in the decision, and Bischoff just didn't want to talk about it.

Sting admitted he was having problems with drug at that time so I believe Eric on that portion at least

I'm really glad I picked this show back up. It's way better than when I quit early on.

Sting being pale kinda fits the gimmick.

Eric’s attitude of “doesn’t really matter how we get there so long as we get there” is a huge reason WCW failed.

I totally zone out every single time I listen to this podcast. Eric goes so far away from the questions that I never remember what the hell he was originally talking about.

Bischoff is not a big fan of Missy Hyatt. Wow! He is also no fan of Jimmy Hart as a performer. Every time Jimmy pops up on one of these old WCW shows, Eric notes how he thinks Jimmy took away from the match/segment.

Seriously though, it's like Conrad: Tell me why you waited til Starrcade to debut the Macho Man Eric: When the first televisions started going into homes in the late 40s....

Jimmy Hart was a weird fit in WCW. I mean, ever since he suddenly became Hogan's on-screen manager in 1993 it was odd. Even going back to being a heel in WCW (after, again, coming in as Hogan's pal), it was not the same...
