On today's episode, Bischoff revealed that when WCW and WWE were both in Las Vegas for a TV convention (and a Clash for WCW) around 1995-96, he and Zane Bresloff called up the hotel where Vince McMahon was going to be staying and canceled his reservation.

The bigger reveal was that Booker T and Ric Flair were having a conversation during the Jericho cruise and Dave Meltzer walked up and sat down next to them like they were lifelong pals. Booker cut a promo on him and Dave left.

I wouldn't put anything past Vince McMahon in trying to destroy a rival promotion but still, I wonder why he keeps bringing back Eric Bischoff despite 1) Eric trying to put him out of business in the 1990s and 2) Eric's lack of positive contributions to companies since the 1990s. The bigger reveal was that Booker T and Ric Flair were having a conversation during the Jericho cruise and Dave Meltzer walked up and sat down next to them like they were lifelong pals. Booker cut a promo on him and Dave left. That is so great. Booker is a guy who is comfortable with himself, knowing that he got as big as he did based on his talents and not who he could leech off of and be successful in working with. A similar instance of saying what needed to be said was when WWE hired James Ellsworth while many other indy wrestlers would never see such fame. And I think Booker may have been working for WWE at the time too or at least under the legends contract.

I just started listening to the archives, and honestly I enjoy the podcast overall. Yeah there are parts that make you roll your eyes but it is an entertaining listen

Yeah there are parts that make you roll your eyes but it is an entertaining listen I like when Bischoff goes "in the weeds" and talks about the actual 'business'. Of course, all of it may or may not be true, but it's still an interesting listen to me.

If you ever want a perfect way to describe this podcast, here it goes:
On an episode about Sting's 1997 in WCW we are 45 minutes in and have yet to get to January 1, 1997

It’s such bullshit!! I don’t recall when was Jan 1 but whatever it was, it wasn’t what Meltzer said.

On this week's episode, Bischoff said "no" when he was directly asked if Sting showed up to Starrcade intoxicated.

To me, it was obvious that Sting was damn near the bottom but not at the show

This week's episode is a Wrestlemania 36 recap/review but its pretty interesting, with a lot of discussion on the challenges of performing in empty arenas, from the wrestlers to the commentators. Eric has extremely high praise for the Boneyard and Firefly Funhouse matches and sees them as a potential way forward for pro wrestling, even if he would rather they be used as a special attraction rather than something more regular.

Eric talking about the modern product is exactly what I want. There's only so much that he can bullshit his way through 1995, 1998 and 2000.

This week's episode was about Spring Stampede 2000. In talking about Mike Awesome, Bischoff mentioned that he was the nephew of Hulk Hogan. Is this common knowledge? I was totally unaware of that.
