Am I the only one out here who dislikes her a lot more than Michael Richards right now?
First off, I never liked her and found her to be one of the most annoying comedians on Earth. But following her apology about her comments on the View, I'm even more annoyed. The thing is, even though I'm Asian, her comments about the Chinese language are the least of what's bothering me. It's when she said it, how she reacted and her apology that gets to me.
When Michael Richards went on his tyrade, he was pissed off at the time. I don't know whether or not he really is a racist, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt in one sense in that when someone is really mad, they say things without thinking. Rosie O'Donnell, on the other hand, was doing her usual thing on The View when she made her comments about what Chinese people would sound like if they interviewed Danny Devito.
Her reaction? She said she wasn't aware what she said was offensive, and after apologizing, said we shouldn't be surprised if she does it again, because that's who she is.
Sorry, I had to get this all off my chest. What do you all think?
And I know there's a rule on these boards about talking about politics, race, etc. So lock this if it's in any way inappropriate.

So it's like... okay to say racist things if that's your viewpoint and the way you are?

Rosie O'Donnell is one of those people who take themselves far too seriously for what they do. She's a mediocre comedian, actress, and is a co-host for what is ultimately fluff television. Why anyone would take her seriously is beyond me.

Not a fan of Rosie O'Donnell. Just can't get behind her. She ruined Betty Rubble.

I don't like her because she pushes her beliefs on people and refuses to listen to anyone else. She also makes too big of a deal out of the fact that she is a lesbien. Not as many people have a problem with the lifestlye as she likes people to believe.
Her true colors were shown a few years ago when she invited the guy from the NRA on her show to promote his movie. In actually, she wanted to debate him about his beliefs, leaving him totally unprepared for her attack.

Yeah, and then she got pissed because Clay Aiken put his hand over Kelly's mouth in Regis and Kelly and then she took it off and joked, "I don't know where that hand's been honey" and that "offends" her as a LESBIAN!? Of course then Kelly came on and corrected her stating that the flu was going around and she didn't want to get it.
But you know, if you don't like her mocking the Mandarin language, well then you just don't have a sense of humor.
At least Michael Richards, whether he is really racist or not, truly felt sorry for what he said and appologized profusely. O'Donnell seems to believe that because she's a Lesbian she can get away with things. Well a woman comedian at least.

Actually I didn't buy Kelly Ripa's excuse for a second--I think Rosie made an excellent point that Kelly would NOT have said that to Mario Lopez or most other male guests. That rings true to me. I think Ripa hates Aiken for being annoying, not for being gay, but I think she took the shot that presented itself. Being home on break, I inexplicably caught the ching-chong-ching episode of the View, and my first thought was that Rosie would pay for that. She takes herself way too seriously, but I have to admit I sort of like her. She's a lot more down to earth than the other View harpies, who yammer on about spending zillions of dollars most women don't have.

It was the wrong platfrom to decide to just ambush someone. And I don't like people putting there hands on me whether they are gay or not. It's disgusting. It's true, where has that hand been? Maybe cause I'm very germaphobic.

Not only is she Chinese, but she's a member of AAJA, which is one of the organizations that was most upset by Rosie O'Donnell.

Rosie O'Donnell is a hypocritical gasbag.
She prefers to trundle up to her soapbox and, after much exertion, balance her mammoth frame on it and commence throwing slings and arrows at everyone - not realizing or caring about who she offends.
But when she gets called on her bs, she expects to get a pass on it. Why? Because everyone loves Rosie and those who don't must be anti-fat or anti-lesbian people.

She said ching chong. I mean. Who gives a crap? A whole bunch of Asians. But, like I said, I'm more annoyed with her "apology" than what she actually said. If any of my friends or someone on this board used a racial term, I would just say "shut up, that's racist," and move on. Believe me, I'm well aware of how overly PC and lawsuit-happy this country is. By the way, Comatose, how's it in the bay area right now? I'm originally from Pacifica. I gotta check up on my home area, ya know.

She's ridiculous. I haven't seen the clip from the View, but her explanation sounds like "Yeah, I said it. And I'm not really very sorry, cuz I thought it was funny."
She used to be funny. A long time ago when it was about her telling jokes and not about being Champion for All Things Gay.
And I wouldn't want anyone just slapping their hand on my mouth. You DON'T know where that hand's been. I've seen all too many people leaving the bathroom without washing to not freak about that.

And let's not forget that less than 40% of the healthcare workers in this great nation wash their hands like they should, too. Make sure your surgeon has washed his hands before you go under the knife. As for Rosie, she needs to be eaten. Alive. By zombies. At an all you can eat buffet. Oh, and that happens forever.

I used to like her doing the Rosie show days but when she started to get all political and then coming out, she became a mean and spiteful person. Or finally showed her true colors.
As a fan of the Asian culture, I can see how truly insulting that is and why she should do more than just a crappy "Sorry".

A revolting but all-too-true statistic. Insist on it if you must. I like that, though. Can it be at a dinner-theater where Tom Selleck is performing?
