Despite a majority of the hardcore fan base disliking Reigns' character and/or booking, do you like or respect him as a wrestler and his body of work as a wrestler?
Personally, I like the guy as a wrestler and think he has a pretty solid list of entertaining matches weather it be during his time with the Shield or singles wrestler.
Off the top of my head, a few that stand out, Shield debut TLC match, Shield/Evolution matches, vs Bryan @ Fastlane, 4-way SummerSlam '17, a few good ones vs AJ, Rumble No DQ vs Owens, Shield triple threat and vs Lesnar (and I liked #2 this year at WM, sue me).
Thoughts?

Singles? Hell no.
Gets ass kicked, kicks out of finisher(s), then superman punch(es), & spear(s).
Can't deny he's a hot tag master though.

I think he's great and generally like his matches and feuds but something is badly wrong with his booking even if I like it for the continued negative reaction.

Nope. Boring and plodding unless disguised in a gimmick match. Relies on repitition too much.

His matches are cool, they're good but not great to me and that's simply due to their formula. It's like every match of his follows a template and I just can't get into them due to that.

His a fine wrestler. But there's just not a whole lot of substance to him.

He’s the kind of talent that you can’t just throw out there willy-nilly at any time against anyone and have a guaranteed great match. You have to think about the opponent’s working style, the length of match, etc. and how compatible that is with Reigns’s strengths. When they get that formula right, he’s damn good.

No. He’s boring as f*** in the ring. He’s crap on the mic

Don't respect anything about him. He's sub-par at best in the ring, worse on the mic, and actually thinks he's one of the best in the world so he'll never improve. Even in tag matches, he had Ambrose and Rollins carrying the matches and Luke Harper selling his offense, of course he looked good there - that doesn't change the fact that pretty much any hoss on the roster could've looked awesome under that circumstance.

Said it many times, but he's the hot tag guy in a tag team. That was his bit with The Shield. Things are going along, other team starts a comeback, hot tag, and Reigns just murders people. Nothing bad about it, ever tag team has had someone who was always the "hot tag" guy. Making him a solo act, though, it basically means that for him to have the matches that got him over, they have to always be the same action you get for his part in a tag match. There's nothing bad about what he does, as being the "killer" in a group, the muscle in a tag team, there's money in that, always has been. He does that well. The problem came, and I stopped caring, when they said "ok, that got you over, so...now smile and tell some family-friendly jokes, here's a script, and as for the matches, just do what you did when you got the tag, everything else is meaningless". It went from "I have a part to play, I know my part well, I go and do it and instead of being a catchphrase guy, I just go do my thing and then leave" to goofy promos, nonsensical bulletproof periods, and Vince beating the hell out of the reset button every time it didnt' work, then trying the same thing over again.
Look at it this way. When The Shield came up, they were all the group that just killed everybody. They were the ones with no weakness because it was always a numbers game. Each of them played a role in the group, and it got over, but the question was seemingly "What happens when they finally lose?". Well, the loss didn't make them unpopular, so naturally let's split them up, let's turn one into a chickenshit heel, let's have one be "crazy" by which we mean we'll just call him that, and one of them will keep the music and the look and basically keep going with the group's identity on his own, and keep the unbeatable aspect, but we'll have him cut some promos like we did when we turned Cena into the whitemeat babyface and he started being more family friendly.

Hes fine with regards to everything but call it a lack of range (maybe due to him never wrestling/training outside the E AFAIK) basically he relies on the same format and if you've seen one Reigns match you've seen them all. Then again I said the same about HHH and Cena for the first few years of their ME run before they began to mix it up style wise so I'm hopeful for Reigns to do similar (it's another reason a heel turn might be the best thing for him, he'll learn a whole new way of pacing his matches).

I think Reigns is fine in the ring, and he's had several really good bouts even in singles so far. Against good workers, such, but it takes two to tango.
Nearly all of his problems are with his booking and persona. That's what needs the fix, not his in-ring ability, not remotely as much.

No. The Superman punch is shitty from start to finish, it's about as bad if not worse than Ambrose's reverse lariat. He's about as repetitive and corny as a wrestler as he is a promo.

Not so much his ability, which I think he has, but how the matches are laid out. They're boring as f*** because they all seem to follow the same formula (then again, that's most WWE matches today I guess)

He's a good performer, but his booking is the most ass that has ever assed in the history of ass.

Eh. He's not as terrible as he's usually made out to be, but he's also not good enough for "This guy's going to be on top for the next 15 years whether you like it or not", either.
