Another forum I'm on has a significant contingent who are on the "f*** Quilll" bandwagon, which has descended into a circular argument of "There's no way Thanos could've won if Quill didn't f*** up" vs. "Of course Thanos would still win, they can't use the Gauntlet and he's still ridiculously overpowered!" I mean it's an interesting debate. They did a good job making Thanos OP as f*** but also vulnerable in a sense and if they got the glove if the best you could have said is they have a fighting chance The problem was the distraction wasn't going to last for long so even if they got the glove fully off(which Spiderman sort of did) what the f*** were they going to do next with it. Quill hastened the pace but unless they said a plan and I don''t remember, they were still stuck on the planet with Thanos and that glove fits none of them to even use it Logically, they rip the Gauntlet off, Tony/Quill flies away with it or Strange portals it away somewhere, Thanos then proceeds to gruesomely beat several of them to death, goes back to his ship and reclaims the Gauntlet somewhere down the line.

As they are both getting beat to death Quill and Tony argue about who's plan was better while Quill with his dying breath declares Thor isn't a pretty boy

Peter: It never was Quill: Shut your disrespectful mouth On a sidenote they better have Kevin Bacon cameo in the next GOTG or Avengers. You had Matt Damon cameo, i'm sure they can make this happen

Also, I love that Thor's immediate reaction to hearing Kevin Bacon's name is "He might be on the team, I'm not sure" rather than "Who?" He may be the King of Asgard, but he knows who Kevin Bacon is.

Kevin Bacon as Adam Warlock. You know you want it.

I think Peter should have been confused as to whether Quill meant the Bacon Footloose or the crap remake. Of course the remake wouldn't be considered the best movie known to man.

Based on his references to Empire Strikes Back and Alien, seems like Parker has a predilection for older movies, rather than ones from recent years.

Anybody else getting the feeling that Marvel has started to take its villains seriously now? Like they've gotten much deeper. Last year we had Ego in Guardians, then Vulture in Spider Man, now we have Thanos. Just hoping for a new trend.

You still had Hela being boring and unremarkable in Ragnarok and you've for some reason got Ronan coming back for Captain Marvel so don't think we're totally out of the woods on that, but certainly a better batting average lately than they have been.

I enjoyed the campiness from Hela tho. She was a perfect mix of Maleficent while also just being plain crazy

There’s a lot of little funny quips you can miss because of all the action Hell, even Banner and inner hulk was funny. You can never hear Hulk but Mark Ruffalo did a good enough job on conveying Hulk being a dick head due to being scared or just being stubborn

Ronan probably won't be the main big bad in Captain Marvel, with that honor going to Ben Mendelsohn's character.

Marvel's had way more hits than misses with their villains so far. Thanos and Killmonger are both incredible, Vulture was a perfect fit for his film, and count me too enjoying how hammy Hela was. Loki's always been fun in whatever role he plays, and I loved Winter Solder and Alexander Pierce. On the Netflix side, there's Cottonmouth, Wilson Fisk and Kilgrave. Yeah, the Hand kinda suck, but the Defenders themselves make up for them.
Yellowjacket was pretty weak, I'll admit, but Ant-Man was a cool movie anyway.

Here's a non-controversial topic: Where the hell did Wanda's accent go? They can't even say she lost it over time because she was living in Scotland with a dude whose accent is British. So for her to suddenly just sound American was jarring. Holy shit. I didn't even notice that. Was it completely gone?? I mean her and Aaron Johnson had terrible accents in AOU, so I'm not complaIning but wow. Aw, I liked Moose-And-Squirrel Scarlet Witch.

Aida from Season 4's probably my favorite, but the show did Mr. Hyde well, and it'd be hard to ignore Grant Ward when talking about top AoS villains.
