I basically told my friends she's Marvel's Superman, although there are several at Marvel that can claim that title. The Sentry being another that immediately comes to mind. Kevin Feige has been hyping up MCU Carol as "the most powerful being we've introduced," including Thanos. Based on this film's stinger essentially teasing Carol's arrival as a likely turning point for the remaining heroes to fight back, I can believe that.

To be honest I really have basically no desire to see Captain Marvel. I mean, I might, but right now it's kind of in that same, "Hard pass," pile I put Ant-Man and Doctor Strange.
Granted a part of that is knowing that Ronan's in it, given in a universe of mostly boring villains he's the most boring by a mile.

I know a ton of fans are pissed about Loki dying but even being a Loki fangirl I'm oddly at peace with it?
"We have a Hulk" got cheers
and
"I am Loki, Prince of Asgard, Rightful King of Jotenhiem, God of Mischief, Odinson" and he just looks at Thor.
That's when I knew he wasn't gonna make it but damnit it felt like coming full circle with him finally accepting everything he is.
Loki's arc feels complete. I won't complain if they bring him back but yeah his story feels done.

I assume he'll at least make one more appearance in Avengers 4 (since there's apparently a time traveling element there).

Honestly, I want that magnificent bastard back because for me Thor doesn't work without Loki (and since Hemsworth now wants to stick around for more, I'd love a straight up Sons of Odin movie), but if that's all she wrote, it's a fitting way for him to go out.

It seems like after the Tesseract transported him that he went all in on trying to find more Stones just to become eternally cursed by them. Almost a cautionary tale for Thanos. And I'm not saying this stuff SHOULDN'T have been answered fully earlier (even though you had never heard so many gasps at a screening before, it was awesome), it was probably the best they could do considering Weaving didn't come back any sooner. That was a plot hole that needed to be filled somehow. Not only didn’t he come back sooner...he didn’t come back at all. Different actor. I’m assuming the fact they threw the Skull in there as confirmation that Evans is done. No sense on bringing him back fully if he’s not going to fight Rogers. (Rumor was that Pierce was going to be revealed as him in Winter Soldier.) Be interesting to see what happened to the stones after the Gauntlet was damaged. If the theory was correct about them being like the Dragon Balls after Thanos did the snap...would be interesting to see Cap go to help try and get the Soul Stone and be all WTF? ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) All the while the Skull is wiser and has moved past his genocidal ways it seems.

All depends on how much of the damage is undone in the next movie, and how they do it. As I said earlier, I think the actual perma-deaths will be in Avengers 4, and those will be the characters whose actors aren't planning on coming back for more. Given Tom has been quite open about being happy to return to Loki for as often as they want to keep the character around I wouldn't be surprised if he came back. I mean, it's Loki. Coming back from the dead is pretty much his gimmick.

Thinking about it...I’m going to be pissed if they don’t steal that scene between Hulk and Onslaught to use with Thanos in Avengers 4.
Thanos trash talking Hulk while he has him pinned to the ground. He just gets super pissed and levels Thanos big purple ass with one super punch sending him flying.

Oh no, I saw from the credits, could also tell since it didn’t sound like his Skull either. Yeah, seeing those two meet up potentially in the next movie would probably be really fun considering where they “left” their relationship.

Sad thing is I think the big problem with him returning was he HATED the make up process. Would it have been too hard to just CGI him and do the voice?

To be fair, that stuff was less commonplace at the time compared to where we are now with some stuff, the tech they used for Stark’s appearance in Civil War only was out from testing a year before that came out so if they could have used that, they probably would have. And even with stuff at the time, do you really see Hugo Weaving having some apparatus stuck on him for potentially hours at a time? That’d probably be worse but not by much.

They dropped a dump truck full of money on his doorstep and told him to just read lines in a studio.

Loki dying a hero was my favorite part of the movie. Gamoras death was a shock , I thought Nebula would be the sacrifice

So... who gets the final blow in Avengers 4?
Captain Marvel? Hulk? Iron Man?

Loki dying a hero was my favorite part of the movie. Gamoras death was a shock , I thought Nebula would be the sacrifice I mean, from now they built Gamora as the favourite through the Guardians movies, it made the most sense. The “Oh s*** moment” from that was the “He wasn’t crying for himself” line. Gamora was DONE by that point.

Some other thoughts.
I was surprised that Captain America played a relatively small role and I'm not convinced he even said much. On the other hand, Iron Man and Thor were the real stars and Hulk had a hefty presence.
Going in, a lot of people wondered about Peter Dinklage's involvement. Gotta say he did a great job.
Granted, it's based on real events from the comics. But the Vision/Scarlet Witch romance was so much better than Hulk/Black Widow's relationship.
Okoye's line about Scarlet Witch not being involved in the battle was one of the best lines of the night.
But I also laughed at Banner's comment about having an Ant-Man AND a Spider-Man
Someone remind me when we got Gamora's conversation with Nebula about the soul stone's location. Did that happen in GotGV2?
Will Thanos become a household name after this?
