Just wait till he's on the verge of winning the title but the match is stopped for blood by the Maryland Athletic Commission.

So, what you're saying is that having a babyface lose, and lose, and lose, and lose in their title chase, with the company not giving (or being forced to give) the satisfying payoff of them toppling the heel, can actually damage them, the product, and their ability to be a star and a draw?
Huh.
Who knew.

Honestly I think they're trying this weird roundabout thing of intentionally booking Reigns to look like a complete loser trying to court sympathy. Not that it has even a slight chance of working.

He's a sinner. He's a saint. He should not feel ashamed.

Bryan was actually booked a lot stronger in 2013-2014 than Reigns currently is against Brock, so it’s worse.

At this point I can't help but feel that Vince has gone full shitlord and is simply just trying to troll everyone.

Logical booking dictates that Samoa Joe beats Reigns.
A win does a lot for Joe. A win for Roman, right now, does nothing.

Yeah, the most logical storyline thing at the moment would be Joe crushing him and Reigns having to take a step back and do a long, hard look at himself. Be it with the overall goal of him being the one to slay Lesnar or to turn him heel or whatever you want to do, the logical route at this point is Joe wins and Reigns has to do some reevaluation.

People are so smart to this that even if WWE released Roman and he showed up in NJPW, a lot of people would bitch that even THAT is just a blatant trick by Vince to try to get us to like him. That's how deep a pit they've booked this man in.

Strowman's their dude now. He's gotta be. I agree with Meltzer as in Strowman isn't someone you can book a company around for say 5 years or so but right now? You can easily do at least 2 years worth of storylines with him on each brand as the lead. Have Strowman win the belt, say he loses it due to shenanigans and goes on a rampage, that in itself can last a year. Switch brands, do the same thing, he's great right now.

When he finally overcomes the odds, just think of how elated we will all be!
I got 99 problems but Roman Reigns ain’t one.

I swear, if someone had only started watching this year, they’d probably think Strowman was the guy they were building up to be the ace, not Reigns. They’d probably think Reigns was behind Rollins or even Balor in that regard, because at least those two have been winning matches regularly lately. And that’s without mentioning Styles, Nakamura or Bryan on the other top brand.

To me it feels like they are trying way too hard to put Roman in situations to gain sympathy and it just isn't working. Like the whole end to the match was booked to make it seem like Roman had the match won (and I bet that is the story they try to tell tomorrow) but why should the fans care? Legit every other time they've fought Roman has eaten the pin clean. Hell last time there was a multi man match it ended with Reigns getting pinned and Strowman standing tall saying you fear me. At least with Braun's loss it can be chalked up to inexperience and even when Brock beat him he sold it like it was luck. Hell, Brock did the same for Joe.
As others have said at this point the smart thing is to have Roman lose to Joe and then either have a road to redemption or have him go full blown heel. But I doubt they do that

I was looking at it from an ace perspective and Strowman is consistently hitting it out of the park. Night in and night out he's doing the work to a point where to us? It's baffling he's not The Guy.

I was looking at it from an ace perspective and Strowman is consistently hitting it out of the park. Night in and night out he's doing the work to a point where to us? It's baffling he's not The Guy. But look at the even how the shows have been closed out in 2018, which is something we hold as generally important... R Rumble: Call that a wash because both lost their matches on the night, the women’s Rumble went last and then the Rousey thing happened after that Chamber: Reigns won the Chamber match over Strowman, sure, but Strowman laid him out before he really had a chance to celebrate WrestleMania: Reigns gets his nice WrestleMania clothes all bloody and loses clean, cue sad Hulk music. Meanwhile, Strowman is so dominant that he wins tag titles with a 10 year old kid as his partner G R Rumble: Reigns loses because of his own finisher, and not for the first time. Meanwhile, Strowman closes out the show as the winner of a 50-man Rumble, flanked by Vince himself, presumably a very important Saudi Arabian guy, a custom belt and a massive trophy with fireworks going off everywhere And then you factor in 2018 TV... Compare and contrast how many times Reigns has been laid out to the amount of times Strowman has been laid out. I’m not even sure Strowman HAS been laid out at any point. Again, I say this a lot, but this is proof of how presentation can skew perception of a talent despite their booking, regardless of the booking being good or bad. Dealing strictly with win/loss records, Strowman has it all over Reigns right now (14-4-0 to 5-8-0). Karl Anderson has a better W/L than Reigns (8-8-0). Bayley has a better W/L than Reigns (8-8-0). The Revival have better W/Ls than Reigns (both 10-7-0). John Cena, currently working an angle where he’s washed up and unsure of his place in modern WWE... better W/L than Reigns (6-6-0). Becky goddamn Lynch, someone who we decry as not being able to buy a win... even she has a slightly better W/L than Reigns (5-7-0). But because Reigns is talked up so much by commentary, that gets overlooked and ignored.
