I remember hearing something about Hercules potentially coming back as a Cuban gangster from Razor Ramon’s past (I want to say it was on Something to Wrestle).
I guess Savio ended up getting a similar role (not as a gangster), but how do you all think it would have went?
Hercules always came off as an older guy even when he wasn’t (kind of like Ax of Demolition), but I think it would have been an interesting role for him. Maybe even give him some goons of his own and he sits back with a cigar until it’s time for him to get his hands dirty.

That sounds like a cool idea, never would have worked with Hercules though.

Nah. Hercules didn't have the charisma for a gimmick like that; it would have just been awkward and fallen flat.

I don't see that working at all mainly for the fact that Hercules had just been there only a few years before. Nobody would've bought him as this guy from Razor Ramon's past when he had fairly recently been in the WWF for 6 years as a completely different character. I think it's just a false rumor anyways not just because of the reasons I just mentioned but also because of the fact that he didn't exactly leave on the best terms during his last run with the infamous Sid match which has to be the biggest IDGAF moment in wrestling history.

Always found it odd that Herc never re-appeared there. He had a WCW gig lined up, which explained why HDGAF, but I think he was gone from there by the end of the year. I could imagine him having a WWF return gig lined up that ultimately went nowhere (much like how Martel has a return planned a few years after he'd left that couldn't be worked out). Road Warrior Hawk (from Raw 2003) says hi.

Maybe under a mask. (He sure had a few of those.)

Hercules Hernandez does make a good Cuban gangster name. I'm picturing Herc ballooned up to 375 with white pants and a tropical shirt open to the sternum.

Was he really at that level in the mid '90s? I've always been curious to read more about him in his post-WWE life. He fell off the grid (at least to this WWF fan) and never resurfaced again, even his death barely got a mention when it broke online in 2004.

Was he really at that level in the mid '90s? He wasn't that big, but he was sure headed in that direction. Look at his shredded physique from 1987 to what he looked like in early '92. I believe Dynamite Kid said in his book that if Herc wasn't taking steroids, he was a naturally fat guy.
