My only argument is that the WWE is not obligated to. Nobody's really arguing otherwise. Pretty much everybody has said it would be a nice gesture if WWE did pay them something to make up for them not being allowed to perform, and that's what WWE did. The dissenters are the ones saying that the women shouldn't be paid for not being allowed to perform, and should have to do something else to earn it.

If the WWE want's to give the girls bonuses, fine. It's a billion dollar company that I don't work for. They can give all the women a million dollars, what the hell do I care? My only argument is that the WWE is not obligated to. They weren't screwed over or wronged. There was a show, they weren't booked. Simple as that. Yes, it's lame that a country is so backward, that they don't want hot women, that are basically wearing bathing suits, to roll around with each other. But whatever, it's not their fundamental right to pretend fight for a living. once again, shows that they would have worked in canada were cancelled for GRR. they were screwed out of it

Nobody even pressured them into doing anything for the women People assumed they would do something but their has been no uproar about they better do this or else WWE did this on their own accord due to getting a massive f***ing check from Saudi Arabia. Once again, how can people argue against them getting a bonus or even WWE paying them because if this was a big show elsewhere and it wasn't in Saudi Arabia they would have worked it

They didn't get "extra" pay, that's something people need to get through their heads. They were compensated for work they couldn't do through no fault of their own, in lieu of dates they WOULD have worked had those dates not been cancelled. And if that doesn't jive with someone let's try "WWE came into hella money and decided to share their wealth with performers". I can't figure out how any of this is a negative. Feels like arguing just to argue at this point There's no way people can't see the obvious point of them getting money from this

Those are WWE produced shows. It's their prerogative to run as many or as little shows as they want. Unless a talent is contractually guaranteed to be paid for a certain amount of dates, then they are owed nothing.

Every performer gets a bonus on WrestleMania week, regardless of whether they're on the 'Mania card or not. Obviously those not on the card don't get as big a payday as those who were, but everybody gets something. By all accounts the GRR dwarfed 'Mania in monetary terms, so giving those who couldn't be on the show a little taste would actually be in keeping with what WWE often do.

Across fourteen pages I have seen a dozen or so people come in to argue against the same point that pretty much nobody is making and I don't understand how this is happening.

.....So for once WWE does a good thing, a thing they were in no way obligated to do and people are bitching about it.
Wow.
Honestly they should make the Finals of Mae Young 2 the women's only show and have all the ladies on the roster perform.

And that's what ends this whole argument right there. People still do get a bonus on Mania week due to it essentially being a festival and bringing the company some extra revenue Saudi essentially gave them another Mania for the equivalent of a very expensive house show. You can find 5-10 ways why the women got money but on the other side I keep hearing the same played out excuse of they weren't on the card and didn't earn it

But this isn't some womens rights issue. They were performers that weren't booked to perform.

That's a pretty extenuating circumstance. Especially as was said over and over they cancelled shows where these ladies 100% would have been working.

A lot of people don't seem to care about this thing they're bothered by enough for there to be 14 pages of thread, but the statement "the company canceled some shows involving some shitty extenuating circumstances and that screwed some people over just from a bare financial standpoint, so they slid them some extra money to make up for it" is not "they were owed that money and WWE not doing it would make them bad people". And nobody's making this a womens' rights issue beyond mentioning Saudi Arabian law. Again, there's a lot of projecting going on here.

I'm not seeing how WWE going "Okay we cancelled these shows so we could make some extra cash, Ladies you can't work it but here's a bonus because we got the extra capital" is a bad thing.

For real, for real. Like I hate to say it. Morals aside there are not many business owners especially ones that answer to a board of directors that even could turn down the amount of money the Saudis threw at WWE. So they did the the show and then did right by their people. Imma give em props for it.
