Turmeric is amazing as both a strong flavour and also as one of my 'subtle spices'. A too-minor-to-taste bit of it can really help lift up the flavour of a lot of dishes. And for colds, I always prep up some warmed milk with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and some honey to try and clear my shit out quickly. All-around great spice. Ah that sounds close to the Irish remedy my wife is fond of - iirc, warm water, shot of whisky, ginger, honey and lemon. Actually this thread reminds me that I need to top up the house spices and herb supply in the next food shop. That's a good one, but my colds are brutal and always have sore throats attached, so while I can always appreciate a good shot of whiskey, that can really only make the bad times worse. Same core idea though; get some good-for-you shit in there with some soothing stuff and hope you stop begging for death.

I've had to order out whole cases of chipotles in adobo on Amazon because the grocery store I shop at straight-up doesn't have them and it's cheaper to bulk buy than to go to the better grocery store, but now I'm cramming spice into so many things and nobody in my family is able to stop me. It's opening up some amazing new worlds for me. But as good as chipotle mayo is, the ultimate spread is a mix of mayo, sriracha, and hoisin sauce that makes pretty much any sandwich in the world infinitely better. Any particular ratio on these ingredients cause that sounds amazing and I love sandwiches. Pesto Mayonnaise is great for sandwiches. Pepperoni, Fresh Mozzarella, Bean Sprouts on a toasted baguette. You will not go wrong.

One thing I've been doing for that late is your basic pasta (boiled for 30 mins plus so its nice and soft and thus easier to digest with sore throat) combined with the tomato sauce, carrots and lots of onion (alongside the usual spice/herb/garlic type additions). I've found onion really does a number on my sore throats - those mucus-fighting compounds or something like that. And garlic, though when I started cooking, I made the error seemingly everyone I know who cooks has done starting off. Thinking you need far more garlic than you do. After my first attempt, I think the entire family was radioactive to vampires!

I think the basic concept of in order to get paid, you need to do work, is timeless. They do work though. Their asses off. This is one missed date. Since it took in so much money, I look at it like a restaurant. A lot of places places have their servers and bartenders share a portion of the tips with the cooks and dishwashers. Everyone is in the same business. Everyone works hard to make it a success. The people in the back don't have an opportunity to get tipped unless they share.

I can see what you mean and it is a good analogy, but the way I look at it would be Dean Ambrose demanding a payoff for Wrestlemania this year even though he didn’t work it through injury. No one would expect him to be paid for a show he couldn’t work - even though it was through no fault of his own. The difference here is that WWE chose to book a show in a place that meant an entire gender was excluded from working it and therefore from receiving a pay off. And whilst I actually agree that they should not receive a cut of a show they didn’t work - just as an injured wrestler would not - as it was through no fault of their own and for deeply unfair reasons, I also agree WWE needs to do something to make it right. An all woman event suggested earlier in this thread seems like an excellent idea to go someway to redressing this situation in the first instance.

Actually I think everyone on the roster should get a minimum WM payday amount even if they miss a show with injury. Maybe they do? Most jobs have paid sick days. WM is the most money they'll make all year. Not fair to not get paid if you miss out since the job your expected to perform can result in injury at any time. It would also help booking since you wouldn't have to try to cram everyone on the show.

It was two house show dates that were cancelled to accommodate this one show that none of the women could work in. So not only would it be pay for being unable to work the show in Saudi Arabia, it was the pay they would have gotten from the house shows that were cancelled they could have worked. Not picking on you in particular but this point should be emphasised more.
