You know I never understood why the show never has got a DVD release here in the states as a complete set while the X-men show did. I know in the UK it did

The most entertaining thing about the show to me is picturing the look on the people making it's faces when they were told to make sure Spider-Man didn't land on any pigeons. I'd have killed to be a fly on the wall for that stupid conversation.

At least that one's just bargain-bin stupid censorship. The pigeon thing seems to run on the logic they think animation involves filming actual actors on an actual set.

Not a bad show but it's censorship issues were stupid.
Compared to stuff like Batman TAS

Besides young Pete (USM), I still hear Christopher Daniel Barnes' voice in my head when I read Spidey in comics.

Also being a vampire you was screwed Their solution was inspired, "lets put lips on the palm of his hands". Man I hateed Morbius as a kid, worst voice actor always begging for plasma. I root against this character now. The laser guns were bothersome for me. Even the cops had them. At least Batman TAS got regular guns. But I wasn't bothered by the laser guns being on X-Men TAS.

I haven't seen Spiderman TAS in ages but I recently came across this video:
After watching it...did they really friggin' censor punches and BREAKING GLASS in TAS?

I actually wonder how this (and X-Men) woulda done if there had never been a Batman: TAS.
They were both just so BAD compared to Batman, but in a vacuum, hey, maybe they'd seem awesome.

Well its not like they're despised or widely seen as awful these days. Not as critically acclaimed or timeless as Batman: TAS, but still a favorite for those that grew up with them. Plus they were venturing into long story arc territory, which DC cartoons wouldn't even attempt till the latter day Superman and Justice League shows.

Yeah, they are still pretty well liked and X-men especially was one of the earliest adopters of Animations almost season length story arcs. They aren't considered anywhere near as good as Batman but they are still thought of favorably.

I think the two 1981 series hold up better now.

Did someone ask for Venom driving a truck? no? too bad here is Venom driving a truck I'd ask why, but that's a rabbit hole I just have no desire to go down.
