An orangutan playing a chimpanzee. Damn Hollywood white washing! The monkey from the sequel was beaten to death by it's trainer for stealing donuts from catering on the set.

Add me to the group that remembers We Got It Made more in the years NBC tried an idea "prime-time starts at 7:30(ET)".

Add me to the group that remembers We Got It Made more in the years NBC tried an idea "prime-time starts at 7:30(ET)". Which I think (well here at least) also included lots of children's specials. This is how I saw The Raccoons for the first time. They also had some Afterschool Special-type programs from time to time.

I looked up the 1983-84 nbc lineup. Sure, there were stinkers and 3(!) nights of playing movies, but there were still hits and short lived shows people still remember. Amongst there lineup was: Knight Rider Remington Steele Family Ties Night Court St. Elsewhere Gimme A Break Cheers Mama’s Family Hill Street Blues Diff’rent Strokes Silver Spoons Bosom Buddies I could be wrong, but wasn't The A-Team on NBC during 83-84, too?

Because of this thread, I spent the whole ride back from the prom last night talking to my date about 'Manimal.'

I am pretty sure you are right. Oops.

It was, as it debuted during the 1983 mid season period in January of that year.

I can't imagine any High School girl being able to resist that kind of pillow talk. For the record, she's in her 20s. Also, I'm 31-and-a-half. That said, 'Manimal' is an ageless, timeless aphrodisiac.

Bumping the thread because Buzzr has been rerunning the Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour from 1983-84, and they've done so since this past autumn. For the short life Mr. Smith had, he got the monster push on the show. Subject of questions, given often as an answer, the (human) star Leonard Frey was pretty much a semiregular too. Even the Super Match segment had "Mr. Smith" as the top scoring answer for the question "____ Smith" (which was determined by a survey of the studio audience, of course.)
Right now they are in the middle of a week dedicated to We Got it Made.

I remember We Got It Made but didn't really watch more than part of one show. Manimal was fun but corny with terrible special effects. I really enjoyed The Rousters, watched the entire season. Had a nice balance of action, drama and comedy. Chad Everett was Wyatt Earp the Third, security for a travelling carnival and part-time bounty hunter/private detective, usually pulled into situations because of his mother trying to keep "the family tradition" alive. Also had Jim "Ernest" Varney as his brother. Not to mention that the Rousters Had a theme song from my favorite country music artist, the great Ronnie Milsap

This thread does my heart good as there are those that actually remember the shows & an appearance of a bit from Late Night with David Letterman

Tickled to see my city newspaper mentioned in the wiki page for Jennifer Slept Here. Guess the critic working for the paper at the time gave it a bad review and it’s mentioned in the reception portion of the page. Surprised it didn’t at least get a shot at a second season though since it states that it got some decent ratings.
