CM Punk has his second appearance inside the Octagon against Mike Jackson on June 9 from the United Center in Chicago at UFC 225. Just under three weeks before that he's set to appear in court for his trial with WWE physician Chris Amann, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. "He's got that WWE lawsuit, remember he's going to trial on the 21st of May," Meltzer said. "Unless there's a delay, yeah May 21st. He should not be fighting, should he? He may ask for a delay. In the middle of a lawsuit, three weeks from a fight, and that's a lawsuit where he's going to be cross-examined and gonna testify in. No, that's a bad deal. Yeah, he's going to have to get that thing delayed past June 9." Punk appeared on Colt Cabana's podcast back in November 2014 and alleged that he was mistreated for a back injury and a concussion by WWE's Dr. Chris Amann. Amann filed a lawsuit against the two for the comments they made and it looks like the two sides weren't able to settle out of court. Cabana (who's also being sued) appeared on The LAW last October and spoke about the lawsuit. "The update is that it's still going on, it's costing me a lot of money, and that's the extent that my lawyers will allow me to talk," Cabana said. "So nothing breaking here, but just do know that it's always on my mind, it's always a very sad thing. And I've talked to other podcasters ... it's kind of changed the way that things work and realizing this is a reality that you can host a show and get sued for it." wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2018/0513/639850/cm-punk-will-go-to-trial-with-wwe-doctor-later-this-month/

That's bullshit that the doctor dragged Colt Cabana into all this.

That's bullshit that the doctor dragged Colt Cabana into all this. It is bullshit that Punk isn’t covering Cabana’s legal fees, and I am a Punk guy.

...it really isn't the best idea to go into a fight, close to a trial with the WWE/their doctors.

Fiddle-dee-dee, now with the Hogan thread and Deville threads locked, FAN should be a much quieter place today.

That's bullshit that the doctor dragged Colt Cabana into all this. Colt made the decision to post the CM Punk interview with the (alleged) slander and defamation intact. While not 100% similar, it does have similarities to the Hogan vs Gawker case when he sued both the publishing company and the editor that wrote the piece. I'm not saying that it's right, but no lawyer wouldn't recommend going after all parties involved to ensure no judge or jury weakens their case by simply asking "why aren't you taking issue with the company/party that published said material?" Not siding with anyone in this particular case (I think they're all assholes, really), but I have a hard time believing any of them aren't guilty to a certain degree.

So, on next weeks Raw, we are going to see extensive footage of Mr. Phillip Jack Brooks rear end. More entertaining than Jinder at least.

Hope that this is worth it for Punk because the WWE will just bleed this out until he doesn’t have any money for lawyers. I don’t know how much money that Punk has, but the WWE has more and likely better lawyers as well.

McDevitt: Mr. Ambrose, do you know this alleged "Best in The World"?
Dean: I do!
McDevitt: You Do?!
Dean: Yeah! I gave this son of a bitch a couple of blintzes to paint my dumpster but he never did it!
Punk: Those blintzes were terrible!!
Dean: PAINT MY DUMPSTER!!
Punk: MAKE ME!!
*Ambrose hops over the stand and he and Punk start fighting *

If only it was two days earlier, corporate Kane could burst into the courtroom and set Punk on fire.

In case anyone was wondering, for a change the reporting on this case IS accurate and that is currently set as a trial date.
Source: I am in the Cook County court system for work frequently and I have followed the case and reviewed the court orders.
Kane was set to be deposed by the doctor's attorneys on 5/2/18, but I can't tell from the record whether the deposition took place. I can only see that it was scheduled.
Also referee John Cone, head of talent relations Mark Carrano, and WWE trainer Larry Heck
EDIT: Just saw another notice of deposition for a Tim Gaeng. Did a google search and he seems like he might be an audio tech for WWE.
Also a Kathleen M. Webber MD, who is head of sports medicine at Rush University.
I'm sure there are a lot of others, and parties aren't always thorough about actually filing copies of their notices of depositions with the court.
