Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. We still know nothing about Ronda’s skills, at WM, HHH put the match together and I’m sure it was rehearsed a ton before the show, this match from the looks of things she got the hot tag and did the same handful of moves that she did at WM. This is not to say that she’s definitely going to suck, but we’ll know more once we see her in singles matches where she is the focus and can’t rely on getting the hot tag or getting her hands on Stephanie. That’s what’s going to truly tell the tale.

Ronda's looking great out there. I've had my doubts and negative expectations in the past but she is winning me over with every performance. One has to imagine how good she would be if she initially took the Shayna Bazler route and worked the indies for several years followed by NXT.

Rousey's jabs > Shane McMahon's pfft no one punches better than Phantom Hands McMahon... he's so fast you don't even see the punches that connect!

I can see that she is putting the work in, and that's good, but I do wonder if is going to falter when she is with opponents who can't/won't Mr. Perfect-sell for her. Her match with Nia, I predict will probably get some kind of Dusty finish, but it's still going to be a test for the both of them.

I’m trying to think of a Kurt Angle example from very early in his own career to try and visualise how it could play out... I know he fought Big Show in 2000, but that was a pure comedy feud based around cosplay and celibacy advocacy. Any time after, say, late 2000, dude’s already good enough that it wouldn’t be a concern. Surely he fought Viscera or Mark Henry around that time, right?

He was doing dark matches for a good bit before they had him debut against Stasiak, wasn't he? Not that Stasiak was going to be having any classics.

Yeah, I mean, he was doing them long enough that he actually had one with Owen Hart a week or two before his tragic passing. That was in May 1999, and he didn’t debut on TV until November.

She really seems like she's absolutely grateful for being in the wwe and looks to be having a blast on top of looking pretty smooth so far in ring. Work on the promo stuff and facial reactions and she's going to be amazing.

I'm glad to see her working a non-tv event. Being part of the regular full-time routine will help her develop anyway, but also really important for her to be part of the group. She certainly comes across as enjoying that and simply doing this a lot is a good idea all round.
I'm also glad to be wrong about her. I most certainly did not think she'd be a disaster - I thought and said that she'd be fine in there, but the promo side and commitment was a big doubt with me. Promo side she can work on but the latter I'm feeling better about. And in-ring wise, very promising.
Also looking forward to seeing if they get her some proper gear. I know the whole basic MMA thing, she'd not going to be going out there blinged out, but I feel like they could do some cool tog designs for her rather than basic crop and shorts. It's a little too basic for me (although I'd take the point about Austin's look, sure).

Best case scenario, she blossoms into a Kurt Angle circa 2000/2001 technical master. I know that's a ridiculous high expectation but it's realistic I feel.

In regards to the comparisons to early Kurt Angle your best bet would be to look up his Power Pro Wrestling work rather than compare it to anything he did in the WWF/E. He was there for the best part of a year before we ever saw him in a WWF ring.

I'm going to wait until she actually has some 1 vs 1 matches.
Fortunately for her,she has all the time to rehearsal all his matches.

She's getting better, though that clothesline-into-roll spot looked a bit unnecessary there. But that's something she'll hopefully learn - when to save spots, when to keep things simple. Still looked a bit awkward in places.
Man, I wish they were letting her wrestle some of the most experienced women in singles programmes before asking her and Nia to try to do something. That's the sort of match that could kill momentum dead, for both of them.

I'm still going to avoid her matches like the plague, though.
I made my line in the sand about it, and I'd feel silly to go otherwise.

It's still a little too early doors to say for certain that Ronda is going to be some super worker or anything, but it looks like she's coming along really nice. She's obviously an incredible athlete, so there was always a good chance that she's going to be great.
I am still concerned that this match with Nia is way too soon though. I would have liked her to have had a feud with Nattie first- a veteran hand who she can work with and learn from every night.
