Without a doubt Randy Orton has had a great career right from the start when he began in OVW to the current situation in WWE but he seems to have hit the cruise control button in the last 3 or 4 years and his demeanour to me is he's bored and doesn't care anymore. Obviously he doesn't need to be like he was when he burst into the company playing 'The legend killer' but the run where he was punting people in the head and blaming it on his 'IED' condition was awesome as he's such a good and believable heel
The previous WWE Championship run he had winning it from Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania 33 didn't even seem to motivate him in a feud that I remember at the beginning had many thinking would be a great story but it fizzled out with poor booking and lack of work ethic from himself and Bray to be a feud many consider wrestlecrap.
Fair does he won the US title but the reign was short and dull too.
Is Orton just holding out for a contract to expire to get a new deal with less dates and still a good wage and relax now he's approaching 40+? Or do you think he will be a Champion again before all that happens? Do you see what I said about him looking disinterested whenever he's performing be it on Smackdown, Backlash or even wrestlemania?
I would like to see him turn heel one last time as I think it suits him a lot better than babyface.
Just wanted to know what you guys and girls think regarding the matter and what you think about Ortons current situation in the WWE and his character over the last few years? And if you in charge of creative what storyline would you involve him in to reignite his passion for his job.

Orton's said repeatedly that he loves being a heel, anytime he's a face and he has an interview somewhere he's always throwing it out. Hell, Orton said on Edge and Christian's show last year that he wants to go heel lol.
So anytime you see Orton not caring, just know it's the fact he doesn't want to be a face. He loves the business, he's great in the midcard "I don't need a title just let me do me" role, he's fine. He just doesn't want to be a face and he doesn't want to carry around a big title. I think he's actually said that in interviews too if I recall.

A heel turn will be not so far away in my opinion, His character doesn't suit being a babyface at all & as stated already he's made that more than known.
A turn against Jeff Hardy would be a good way to do it and to be honest I thought it would have happened at Backlash the other week but perhaps they are planning a slow build for him going back heel, Having it happen V's Hardy makes the most sense too with Jeff being such a well liked character and when involved in a story that isn't just a quick couple of weeks thing that doesn't really have any kind of payoff like the one Orton had with Christian he's one of the best the WWE has on its roster.

He goes through the motions, and he's right to do it
The way this company is booked, nothing matters enough to give anything more.

Doesn't matter if he's heel or face, they pigeon-holed him into a character he doesn't like anymore. Let him be "give no shits" Orton like he acts on occasion and he'll be fine as a face or heel.

No, he's just sensible about it. It's not his whole life and he doesn't kill himself for it.

If they turn him heel, he needs to be a ruthless one(like late 2008-early 2009) instead of the tired and outdated cowardly heel..

Possible, but I don't think so. I just think dude's way too chilled these days. He gets along with the boys, he seems like he enjoys his role of upper carder that can slide up and down the card as needed. None of the pressure that comes with being on top, gets to have fun, work new guys, I don't think it's that he isn't passionate. He's just happy doing what he's doing and that he gets a few weeks off every now and then.

If he turns heel please don't have him cut those slow long drawn out promos again
One of Cm Punk's greatest achievements may have been leaving and forcing Randy Orton to start talking faster to stop people chanting for Punk

I think hes fine where he is. He can slide into that Kane position where they can slot him anywhere on the card and he never really loses credibility.

There is absolutely nothing left for him to do.
He shows up, he does a match, he goes home. He has nothing to prove, nothing to strive for, nothing to make him care, or really, us care about him.
The Kane example is a decent one, though I always felt Kane had something to prove until relatively late in the game for him (his championship run where he got to do long promos with epic music over the top and lighting effects ticked that box).

He's really the only guy I can remember in a while who is still "forced" to play his character instead of just being that guy
There's no reason he should be the viper like how Shawn wasn't the heartbreak kid. Leave it as a moniker and let him showcase himself as he's a funny dude outside of the ring and he's actually more of a clown than you would expect. Would like to see that more out of him

He also spoke highly of Aiden English and other young guys in that podcast. He wants to help young guys so their won't be a reliance on him as much in regards to holding belts or going overseas. He essentially wants to be part time all things considered but still come in to help guys off the back of his credibility

I kinda question whether we as fans can say how much passion someone has for something. If Orton isn't into his role at the moment, that doesn't mean he doesn't still love his job.
That said, his feud with Bray did suck. It was entirely booking (the video screen of bugs didn't help), but man, what an awful feud.

I’m fan of Randy but not blind: -since the come back he talking about changes ,news or soon great things.Nothing happen. This is lying and make fun of his fans. -the time slot where he put his divorce is not credible -he works in houseshow like diva who is a champion or always on Tv when in reality the wwe give nothing to him.He thinks that it is an acceptable position. Randy need open his eyes and do something.

At this point I gotta figure that Randy has the pull to do more of what he'd like to do. It might take a bit of effort or cajoling but he's one of the most decorated vets they have in the company and just this year they were still giving him world title runs. If he really isn't enjoying what he's doing then he needs to have some conversations.
Edit: sorry his world title run was last year but still, the point stands.

eh... dude just flat out doesn't care, Even when he turns heel he'll care for like 2 or 3 weeks before going back to by the numbers.
maybe it's because he's still the Viper and he hates it.
But at the same time... there really isn't anything for him to do... he's done like everything... they really should have him become a part timer... I mean he gets pops so I understand why they have him there.
