I'm in the group of I think Cody can make it work for him. Dude seems to get wrestling right now, from a personality standpoint at least. I know he's not the most exciting wrestler in ring but I can see the dude playing up the title. Maybe doing a Miz like thing where he says he going to make it important again, just heel it up big time. Very least it gives him a title to defend in ROH/NJPW and keeps their title scenes fresh for others.

Im all in for a Cody NWA title win.
.....
Seriously. That belt can still be an effective element in storytelling and at the very least could be used to set up an NWA vs. IWGP title match.

Count me in on loving the idea of a Cody reign. He’s blossomed into a fantastic package of talent now. His dad was incomparable, but he’s charismatic in his own right. He deserves to hold the same belt Dusty did. Dusty....Harley....Flair.....Kahagas. You can have all the doubts you want. But why not try? There's no reason not to take a shot on it. If it doesn't work out, so what? Are we really happy to live in a world where mean-spirited internet snark is good enough to sink a promotion in a business we all want to see grow? He said it would be neat if Cody could help it. Dial it back a notch. Still better than the fake Sheik or Colorado Kid.
