Eddie/Brock NWO 04. No other match touches my emotional heartstrings like that. That is pro wrestling done at the highest level, in my opinion the best example of what separates pro wrestling form any shoot competitive contest.

Glad to see it mentioned already, but mine is also Triple H and Cactus Jack. My friends and I hated Trips, and wanted to see him get slaughtered.
But halfway through the match, I actually changed my mind and began pulling for Trips, and I didn't mind him winning.
He was made that night, and he turned me, a hater, into a huge fan that night through his in-ring work.

This so hard to pick. Entirely depends on my mood and what I'm in to in general at the time, be it more work rate or character.

1997 Canadian Stampede (Bret, Owen, Bulldog, Anvil, Pillman vs Austin, Hawk, Animal, Goldust, Shamrock)
The atmosphere was unreal, the match was exciting, and we never saw a full Hart Foundation stable match other than that. Such a feel-good match.
Other favs include:
Owen vs Bret in the SummerSlam steel cage match Owen vs Bret at WM HBK vs Taker at WM25 Jericho vs Juvi at Superbrawl AJ Styles vs Cena at SummerSlam 2016 Bryan vs Cena at SummerSlam HBK vs Mankind at Mind Games Gargano vs Ciampa at Takeover this year Hardyz vs E&C ladder match at No Mercy Cesaro vs Kofi on Main Event for US title Cesaro vs Cena on Raw (the first one from 2015) Vader vs Sting at Starrcade *all Jericho vs Rey matches from their 2009 IC title feud Cody/Goldy vs The Shield at Battleground Kane vs Undertaker at WM14 Bryan vs Sheamus at Extreme Rules 2012 Mr. Perfect vs Bret from KotR Cactus Jack vs Triple H RR Owens vs Cena at Elimination Chamber Flair vs Steamboat in Chi-Town Flair vs Sting Clash of the Champions Flair vs HBK WM Punk vs Lesnar at SummerSlam Angle vs Benoit at RR DDP vs Savage at Spring Stampede DDP vs Raven at Spring Stampede Bret vs Austin at Survivor Series '96 Punk vs Cena from Raw 2013 Punk vs Cena from MitB 2011 Morrison vs Rey Smackdown 2009 IC title match Morrison vs Edge Smackdown 2009 Bulldog vs Owen on Raw (European title) HBK & Diesel vs Razor Ramon & 1-2-3 Kid Bulldog v Bret SummerSlam

Rey vs. Eddie Halloween Havoc 1997.
Surprising because: - I am not a huge Rey guy. - I am not a huge Eddie guy. - I am defiantly not or was a WCW fan.
I didn't see this match until about 10 years after it aired. I have been a wrestling fan since 1988, but never watched WCW. Seemed out this gem, and it is wrestling perfection.
Sidenote: Rey's attire in this match is my all time favorite wrestling attire.

For sheer story telling and matches I can see again and again I love
For the golden age era Bret v Perfect SS91 with Hogan v Warrior a close second
For the New Generation Owen v Bret and Shawn v Razor both at WM10
For the Attitude era HBK v Taker Hell in Cell and Bret v Austin Survivor Series 96
For the Ruthless Agression era Angle v Benoit Rumble 03 and Austin v Rock WM19 - people prefer 17 but for me this is my fave
Later/ Now period HBK v Taker 25 and 26 just phenomenal storytelling
Now - Daniel Bryan WM30 and Punk v Cena Money in the Bank

So many to choose from depending on what era I'm in the mood for, but keeping it to the Attitude Era - Current timeline, my favorite is Rock vs Triple H at Backlash 2000. Just a chaotic match that finally paid back the entire McMahon/Helmsley Faction for nearly every shitty thing they had done the previous six months. Some of the loudest pops you'll ever hear take place during that match. In a lot of ways, that's the height of wrestling for me - it's the climax point to one of my favorite all-encompassing storylines and provides a genuine babyface triumph. I never get tired of it. That's a damn good one too- the perfect example of how you can 'overbook' a main event and still have it come out awesome.

The Attitude Era had its fair share of stupid shit, but Rock-HHH at Backlash 2000 is a perfect match to show someone who wants to know what made it so exciting.

A lot of choices, but Mankind vs HBK at Mind Games is way up there. Also really liked 1-2-3 Kid vs Owen in the King of the Ring tournament they were in, especially since that's like a 5 minute match.

It's like saying what's your one favourite video game ever. I have favourites, not a single example of a perfect game. Current favourites sometimes change over time and whatnot.
I want to end this on a "but just so you know, anyone who says X match is mot the best is dead wrong" kinda note, but i don't feel motivated to right now.
Recent match I really enjoyed and became one of my favourites: Bret vs Diesel survivor series 95. I had forgotten how good this match actually is, and the flow of the match surprised me. I enjoyed seeing both men just move across the ring and position themselves, even if the leg tie up wasn't perfect.

That is pro wrestling done at the highest level, in my opinion the best example of what separates pro wrestling form any shoot competitive contest. This is an absolutely extraordinary match. I can't believe Brock was still willing to give so much to a thirty-plus-minute match against a lifelong midcarder so close to him leaving the company entirely.

It is a perfect storm of a lot of things. The crowd wanting Eddie to win so bad. Taz and especially Cole being completely on fire on commentary and understanding exactly what story is trying to be told in the match. Plus, I think that both were completely thrilled for Eddie. Brock and Eddie shining as two performers understanding their roles perfectly. The Goldberg stuff being done perfect and not overshadowing the victory. It is art.
