As for my own opinion here, I think WCW Hogan had both a better and a worse effect on the product just depending on what Hogan was doing at the time. So Hogan hurt the product more than Lesnar. But Hogan also helped the product more than Lesnar. Lesnar is just kinda there right now. Except Lesnar isn't there at all. lol I just confused myself. Maybe he’s been learning from Big Dave...

Never had a problem with Champ Hogan in those times. He was part of the hottest angle in wrestling, an angle that reenergized and saved wrestling.
Hogan kept the belt but all those Nitros shows and PPV events were so entertaining that it wasn't an issue.
Problem with Brock's run it's that it's lifeless in a stale product. There's next to no drama.

There's next to no drama. That’s another angle to look at that’s beyond Brock’s control. The undercard in WCW was on fire. It was so good that it could make up for Hogan. The US, Tag and TV Titles mattered. WWE’s current undercard is so neutered that it’s sad. They have a roster that could meet if not exceed what WCW had. They just won’t let them do Brock not being there is more glaring.

This is how I sum both Hogan and Lesnar:
Hollywood Hogan was the "guy" people invested during the WCW/NWO warfare, wherein Brock Lesnar is "just there" in today's WWE's mundane landscape as everything below him serves no point.
