Wrestlemania 9: Mr Fuji throws salt in Bret's eyes. Yokozuna just walks over to him and gets the pinfall. Wrestlemania 10: Yokozuna loses his balance and falls from the ropes. Bret rolls out of the way to avoid being crushed and gets the pinfall.
In neither case did the winner hit any kind of offensive move that directly led to the finish. Not even just a quick elbow drop or anything. Wouldn't they want to get something in so at the very least they could claim that "I beat him" as opposed to "Yeah, it was a fluke, but who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth"?

There’s a reason the highlight packages just show Yoko raising the title and Heenan saying “He’s a national champion now!” And Bret being paraded around at X.

X, they probably didn't want to drag it out. He could have scrambled to the top and done the double elbow drop, maybe, but a piledriver would be ludicrous, and a Sharpshooter would take too long to set up for it to be capitalizing off of the fall.
As for the other, guess he could have walked over to drop an elbow on him or a leg, but Yoko didn't seem terribly concerned about graceful victories most of the time. He didn't have too much pride to take what he wanted.

If I recall, Bret's talked about doing the Usual Bret Thing and having really strong match plans to put on something good in spite of Yoko's limitations. Yoko rejected it and this is what happened instead.
