So next month I'm taking 5-day/4-night vacation to Toronto. Now unlike my last few vacation tip threads, I actually pretty much have my itinerary down. Definitely going to the CN Tower, the Aquarium, the Royal Ontario Museum and Castle Loma. Also gonna check out the Yonge-Dundas Square, the Kensington Market and the St. Lawrence Market. For food I'm hitting Smoke's Poutinerie, Harvey's, a Hakka place and maybe try some Canadian exclusive Pizza Hut. But if anybody's got any advice on something else I should check out and try I'm more then happy to hear it.
Also if anybody knows any good places in the Downtown Toronto area to get Spruce Beer, Nanaimo Bars, or any kind of especially Canadian treats, let me know.

Reposted from an earlier Toronto trip thread. You can ignore the ROM and Casa Loma suggestions. I took a trip a few year back. My recommendations, which are by no means a comprehensive list of everything Toronto has to offer. 1)Eat at The Burger's Priest www.theburgerspriest.com/LOOK AT THIS f***ING BURGER That thing in the middle is "The Option" which is two portabella mushroom caps, stuffed with a cheese blend, breaded and fried 2) Visit the Royal Ontario Museum. Canada's largest museum, and truly a world class museum experience. 3) Visit the Toronto Zoo - If you like zoos, this one is great. Nuff said, really. 4) Tour Casa Loma - This is a castle built overlooking the city by a wealthy financier. It is a fun tour, a glimpse at how the absurdly wealthy lived. 5) If you're nearby, grab a coffee at The Black Canary. This is a combo coffee shop and comic book store. Be sure to grab some poutine and a peameal bacon sandwich somewhere

You have to check out a place called Zanzibar in Toronto. They bring in strippers from around the world. No cover charge, no two drink minimum, and naked ladies flying through the air on a trapeze. It's like heaven.

What in the blue hell is Canadian exclusive Pizza Hut? Canadian Pizza Huts sell certain types of specialty pizzas that you can't find in US Pizza Huts, like Smoky Maple Bacon or Creamy Butter Chicken. They also used to have a Cheesy Beef Poutine Pizza too, but apparently they discontinued it (or just don't sell it in Toronto).

I checked out the Canadian McDonalds and Burger King menus to see what they have to offer and all I really saw were some renamed US burgers and poutine. And honestly, if I'm in Canada there are other places I'd rather go to to get Poutine then McDonalds. But if you know of any other Canadian fast food specialties I'm all ears.

Must be more the desire to eat at Pizza Hut that confuses me. Pizza Hur is ridiculously expensive here, can’t imagine what Toronto thinks it’s worth. Bro, unless you’re a huge Pizza Hut fan, for some reason, I wouldn’t.

If you muuuuust go to a pizza chain for some reason, I'd say just go to Boston Pizza. It has absolutely nothing to do with Boston and is a Canadian company.

I was just addressing your shock that Canadian chains of American restaurants have their own stuff. I don’t eat Pizza Hut anywhere.

If you want insanely priced pizza, with awful service and at the end you go “Well it was ok”. Boston Pizza is your place!

I live in NYC, I can get flat bread topped with sauce and cheese on every corner. I'm looking for some kind of pizza I can't get elsewhere.

If you like steak, there is a steakhouse called Barberian's that I will put up there as one of the greatest steak joints in the world, period. It's a little pricey depending on your budget but not as outlandish as some other upscale places. I HIGHLY recommend it.
