2 minutes ago my Dad shouted up the stairs because someone was in the garden.
It was some drunken git climbed over the wall and broke a garden light and a pot. I threw him out the gate.
To be honest I think he was just lost and confused and wasn`t trying to break in but got me thinking.
Ever had your house broken into and had anything stolen?

My father's house was broken into, but the guy didn't take anything, and I wasn't there at the time.
Thank God, because I would have flipped.

I've climbed through my own window because I forgot my keys. Does that count?

Only my parents cars were broken into. Someone tried to hotwire our BMW 735i one night and failed. Another time someone went into my father's Dodge Ram 1500 and stole change out of the truck, but it was sorta his fault for leaving the door unlocked...though it was only for two minutes.

No, but I've "broken" into a friends car. His car was broken into, well, he left it unlocked and had some CDs stolen, we visited him about a day later and noticed, he still wasn't locking his doors. So a buddy and I opened the door and took the rest of his CDs, his steering wheel cover and pretty much anything else easy to grab. We went back to his mom later that night when we knew he was out with girlfriend and she thought it was the funniest thing ever. The next day, we visited him at work, while we were there, he got a packaged delievered. None of us knew what it was.....suddenly, just before he opened it, I realized, his mom packaged his shit up and had someone deliver it to him.....sure as shit, she did just that. Good prank made better by the fact we happened to be there when he got his shit back.

One time I was asleep on the couch and I forgot to lock the back door. When I woke up, the jug of water I kept in my fridge was gone, and the door had been opened. No kidding, a jug of f***ing water. That's it.

Someone broke into my car about a month and a half ago. They tried to steal it, but they weren't able to start up the ignition so they just gave up and ran away. Even though they did not steal the car, the door was damaged and the whole steering column was cracked open from where they tried to steal it. So I still had to take my car into the shop to be repaired, and that took about a week and a half.

Someone tried to break into my car's trunk by jamming a screwdriver in it or something. They did not get in but the lock was damaged so I could not open the trunk anymore.
And what a treasure would of been waiting inside if he/she got in: A empty soda bottle, a dirty towel and a bowling ball drilled for my fingers. And of course the spare tire.

I had my truck broken into and my cd player stolen. They royally f'd up my door lock in the process. To this day, someone could probably get into my truck with a flat head screwdriver. I think what pissed me off the most was they took my Sublime's 40 oz. to Freedom CD.

Yeah...had my car broken into a few years ago. CD player stolen.
Many years ago, when my dad was in the hospital, one of my "friends" decided to walk into my house, goes into my parents' bedroom and steals my dad's billfold (wallet). Him and a few people he knew decided to rack up $800 bucks worth of stuff on one credit card, $900 on another card and where this stupid ass messed up...at least $15 dollars worth of calling card calls...FROM HIS HOME NUMBER!! Because I was under 18 at the time, I'm pretty sure I could have put the bastard into a coma in which he'd never wake up from, but because I opened my big mouth in front of the cop that was taking the police report...he basically told me not to go after him or he'd arrest me himself.
Worst part about it is, I don't know if my dad died knowing what had happened or not. I couldn't have gone to jail knowing my dad had one foot in the grave.
I still see this son of a b**** around town every once in awhile. Basically him and I don't have any correspondence with each other...because basically he knows he's still on my s*** list. I'd just like for one day for him to say the wrong thing to me so I can s*** stomp him. That could have happened back on Memorial Day...when I could have outed him as someone who broke into my house and did what he did...but I didn't...for now.

My dad's car was stolen when he was younger. The speed gauge was broken, and at 0 so the theif thought he was out of petrol. He parked it about 50 metres away from my dad's house.
Owned.

My house was broken into several years ago. A bit of money and jewellery got stolen. Fortunately, they didn' t think of checking my room ( I was like 10 at the time ) because I had quite a lot of money in my coin bank. Well, for the kid I was, anyway...

My house was never broken into, but people steal stuff from our front porch all the time. they took pots of flowers, a glass frog, a stone cross, and the one that pissed me off the most, on may day some mexicools stole our American flag and flag pole, like that makes any freaking sense.
Oh and the worst one ever, today someone stole our for sale sign for our house and all the fliers inside of the case. Classy.

Yes. I had the majority of my tape collection stolen, my sword, and my weighted clothes.

Yes. I had the majority of my tape collection stolen, my sword, and my weighted clothes. What are weighted clothes? I actually just remembered the house was broken into years ago as well. I was coming home from a friends house and the thief was walking out the door. He actually said, "Hi, how are you" as he went past me and I assumed he was in visiting my parents. He had just tried his luck with the door and found it open and stole a small stereo. Chancing bastard!

My sister's car had it's window broken a week ago. They did a crappy job, couldn't even get the stereo.
My house never was broken into. My friend's house was broken into twice. Once while they were in Disneyland and obviously cut their vacation short.

I was living at my mom's when I was 5. We were the victims of an armed robbery at home. These people were in our house waving guns and tying up any grown up who showed up for about 3-4 hours as they ransacked our place. The only thing they physically did to me was I got hit when one of the guys tossed the couch to look behind/underneath it. He even apologized for hurting me, which really contrasted oddly with their behavior 10 minutes earlier when they threatened my mother with kidnapping me if she didn't tell them where everything was. They eventually left, but I couldn't make myself move for probably 10 minutes, at which time I helped my step-father's brother get untied (he was the closest one to me, since he showed up to visit us about halfway through the robbery.
