The point would be to get the intended reaction, and not be featured as something that the audience quite vocally doesn't care for. It also would hopefully lead to a character change to something that people find more palatable. If you create a character people like while he's getting boos as a heel and not feeling like he's being shoved down peoples throats they're more likely to cheer him when he goes face again. It gives them a chance to try and right the ship and get Roman to a point where he's the guy and people don't hate it.

Alternatively, you can carry on doing exactly the same shit you're doing now and hope the reactions might change. As opposed to trying something new and trying to change the reactions that way you can be stubborn and pretend you're in some kind of grey area characterwise which absolutely isn't the case going off TV. Either way.

Even just from my passing interest, I know Roman has such a bunch of different crap. In the past, he's hinted at his desire to turn heel.

Getting booed doesn't make you a heel. I'm not claiming to be an expert on THIS BUSINESS more than actual wrestlers but the amount of times wrestlers say things like that is baffling to me. Also the fact you're getting booed when you're not actually trying to get booed should tell you something.
