Yeah, it's seriously been that long. It's also two years since Seth was WWE Champion but that's kind of more of a weird sidenote than notable.

For real, Roman, the character? The boy is buns.
He beat up a broken down old man at Mania last year, he beat a John Cena that's apparently ultra vulnerable since freaking everybody is beating him these days (like a washed up UFC Legend being fed to title contenders), did jack shit the rest of that year. Then, he sneaked his way into another Mania title shot through ho-ness and bitch moves galore after Braun did most of the work for him, and then got bodied in the actual title match.
What an absolute geek this dude is.

Keep in mind he's been champ 3 times and the most days he held the title was 77. Just a little under 3 months tho that probably would have been longer if he didn't get suspended
I have never seen a perceived top guy like him be booked to look like so much like a loser

It's like they know it will go over poorly... so they don't give it to him... but then they keep pushing him as the main focus of the show anyway... so he looks like a loser... but he is then pushed to be better than everyone else (Save Lesnar)... so the entire roster looks like shit too... |

But other than that you have his lame Elim Chamber win, the negative star disaster with Lesnar at WM, the "eh" rematch in Saudi Arabia, the awful Joe PPV match, and this recent Jinder fiasco that everyone saw coming from a mile away. The dude has earned a depush on merit. His work has sucked.
Roman Reigns is the only guy I've ever seen that seems stale with a title that he's never actually held. It really is kind of amazing.

This is what I've been saying. Dude is supposed to be the successor to John Cena, but he's got none of John's talent be it on the mic or in the ring. His last PPV match was so boring that the audience ignored the majority of it and just goofed around. I can't imagine any other promoter in history who would keep Roman on top, especially when you have young guys in their primes like Rollins, Ambrose, and Rusev on the roster who are over as hell and are great wrestlers and entertainers. |
