It took Blake to get out of L.A. to realize he needed to make his game better well rounded
I never thought he would become this good a shooter so fair play to him but he's in a weird space of being less a star despite being a better player.
Because since high school he was only trained to dunk and post up, and he was very good at it, he was an all star in his rookie season. Besides that it was just easier for him to dunk in the clippers system cause that’s all they wanted. He has good handle and can pass good for a guy his size He should have learned a consistent jumpshot about 3 seasons ago imo The biggest problem with Blake now is the money. He’s getting paid like a superstar and number 1 player when I think on a championship team with his current skills he’s a very good number 2 or damn great number 3 Det is probably the best fit for him at the moment as I can’t place him elsewhere that will fully use him. Maybe ATL with him and Collins being small enough to be a good 4-5 duo

He should’ve developed those skills then not just focus on one area. He changed and evolved too late. His game should’ve been more like Kevin Love since the beginning.

The thing is there is nothing wrong with focusing on your strength but you have to put in the work to learn
Kevin Love didn't get a 3 point shot until his 3rd season, Brook Lopez is a f***ing gunner when he just started shooting 3's like 2 seasons ago, Horford can hit 3's etc
Blake didn't need a 3 but he needed a consistent jump shot which he did not have until now.

And the Pacers season is, thankfully and mercifully, over.
Hopefully Oladipo will come back healthy and the team will be competitive next season. Then we can talk about an actual playoff run.

Pacers just to short handed to deal with Boston
Good team and good core and with a healthy Oladipo they can do some things
Don't know about Nate as a coach tho

Nick Nurse’s shocked facial expression from tonight’s game is going to be a meme by tomorrow morning, if not sooner.

I like the Magic. I think there are some really nice pieces there, but the talent gulf between them and the Raps is just too big to make up.
Toronto’s defence is just smothering and Marc Gasol has utterly destroyed Nikola Vucevic. He’s a complete non-factor.

Jerry, you’re getting up there in age, you want to end up a Clipper or return home? Cause if you stay a clipper you’ll never make it past the second round.

The first round really should go back to a five game series. I know once in a while you’ll have a fun 7 game first round, but damn near all of the first round this year aside from maybe 2 are trash. Five games will at least makes upsets a bit more plausible, and the clear mis matches (like every series in the East, the Warriors series, Rockets series) will end quicker.

Agreed, the best of 7 would be more interesting in the first round if the NBA was more competitively balanced, but in most cases it's just dragging out the inevitable. Get it over with in a best of 5. This way the losing team stops getting embarrassed in sweeps or a 5 or maybe a 6 game series. And the winning team is less worn out for later, more competitive series.
Like in the NHL, it isn't exactly unheard of for an 8 seed to make a deep run in the playoffs. Hell, 8 seeds have won the Stanley Cup before, like the LA Kings a few years back. But in the NBA? It's something of a minor miracle for an 8 seed to make it past the first round, much less make it to the NBA or Conference Finals.

Yea, every time I do a franchise in 2k I always switch it to 5 games for the 1st round
I know NBA wants more money, but yeah hardly any year we actually get an 8th seed that stands a legit chance against a 1 seed and it has been way to long to even bring up a recent example
It would at least make the series interesting to have a 5 game series and have the games where Toronto and Warriors lost and at least believe they have some pressure on them

Question to NBA fans, if your team is not one of the top in the league, do you actually think there is a hope in hell they can win the NBA championship?

Question to NBA fans, if your team is not one of the top in the league, do you actually think there is a hope in hell they can win the NBA championship? Meaning if you are a middle team like Det, or even Portland you believe in the chance you have but you know shit got to go your way
Speaking as a Knicks fan, I know they basically got to go from zero to hero, they really can't/won't have a middle ground if what they want actually comes true
It will be interesting to see if we are entering a "new era" If KD leaves, GS is still dangerous but they basically go from juggernaut to still a great team but beatable. The LeBron era probably ended when he came to the West so he's no longer an automatic ticket to the finals as he was in the East
This offseason will be key because it could shape the NBA over the next 5 years or so

Russ and OKC woke up the beast in Dame Lillard by their BS the other night
That is their biggest problem. Their leader celebrating 1 game when you have to win a 4 game series and they look like clowns in the process if they lose this game tonight

Question to NBA fans, if your team is not one of the top in the league, do you actually think there is a hope in hell they can win the NBA championship? Not on the short term? But with the right moves and luck in the long term yes. Take GSW, they were an average playoff team not even considered one of the best, that Lebron didn’t even considered a possibility to face in the finals. Money Made has alluded that his second stint in Cleveland was constructed to specifically defeat the Spurs. Then right steps were taken. They got Steve Kerr because cheap ass James Dolan didn’t wanted to pay him more, David Lee got injured and Draymond took his spot, then Kerr convinced an all star in Iguadola to come off the bench and lead the second unit. Good management made an average team win a ring. They got rid of the psychotic Mark Jackson and the rest is history. And the man behind it? Jerry West. Jerry West also was a driving force in convincing Durant to join GSW by saying that he regretted always getting killed in the finals by Boston and that KD would regret not getting a ring. Please come back home Jerry, I don’t care that you’re older than Mickie James.

If Durant leaves GS it definitely makes the NBA wide open next year Just look at the West........you wannna bet on CP3 staying healthy all postseason or Harden not choking Literally all WC playoff teams and if the Lakers get a 2nd all star player will think they have a finals path and at least a 50/50 chance against whoever wins the East

The other one would be leaving possibly to the Knicks.

Look where they're at now, you can easily build a championship contender with the Clippers. You could get AD or Kawhi, maybe even both. Stay with the Clip Show.

He doesn't play defense. His pace isn't as controlled as it should be. He passes as much as he does now because he has no faith in his jumpshot, the dude drives the lane to kick out for a 3 with a team with no 3 point shooters
I have no doubt he takes losing personal and is a great leader in regards to the team helping. However, he is too selfish in regards to personal stats and personal beef. Dame out here ballin and doing what he does while playing defense on Westbrook but Brodie is falling back on defense, playing help defense like he is a forward
He's basically pulling a LeBron but at least at point LeBron was an all around NBA defender and has been to the finals 8 years in a row
