Yeah, sounds like a fair deal to me. Pelicans get some young cats to build around, Lebron gets his superstar, we keep Kuzma. Exactly the kind of deal you’d want with the Lakers in “win now” mode with Lebron about to exit his prime May be a fair deal until you see you gave up THREE FIRST ROUNDERS. Even as a Raptors fan, you gave up too much. Not really, lol. Win in those years, they all end up being low picks. If Lakers get a title out of it or even back to the conference finals after being an ass team for the better part of a decade, it’s obviously worth it

Future mortagaged, LeBron aging, picks can’t be back-back years so they’re spaced out. If it works there won’t be any complaining, but it can have a long term negative fallout.

Woj says teams already inquiring about the 4. So the Pels may be doing some more flipping soon.

It might hurt this offseason with whomever the Pelicans are going to select at No. 4, but it's expected that the Lakers won't be a lottery team anytime soon with this acquisition. It's a pretty solid deal for the Pels. With Williamson going No. 1, they've got a pretty decent Starting 5 right off the bat: PG Ball SG Holiday SF Ingram PF Williamson C Randle Sure, not much presence in the middle, but it looks like an athletic group that can get up and down the court in a hurry.

So Lakers got room for one more max contract
Hell of a choice to make either use that on one more max guy or split it up and get a bunch of great players to put depth onto the bench etc

I still think that the Lakers are throwing their future away so they can be somewhat competitive now. With Davis and LeBron in but Rondo, Stephenson, McGee and others in one-year deals, what's the plans for Lakers 90210?

I think the Lakers got raked over the coals here. All they really got now is Lebron and AD, while counting on Kuzma to REALLY step up. Other than that, they got nothing. And Kyle Kuzma strikes me as one of those guys that otherwise no one would pay attention to if he wasn't on the Lakers.
Kuzma and Davis also play the same position unless Davis switches over to being primarily a Center.

Being a true X doesn't matter. Their line-up will be Kuzma/LeBron/Davis up front. Doesn't matter what anyone is called. Best players play, and it's not like they have any depth at all to challenge anywhere. Dray wasn't/isn't a true 5 either.

Lakers did not give up too much for Anthony Davis who is a literal walking 27 and 13 a night along with like 3 blocks in just around 22min of playtime.
No way in hell did the Lakers give up too much for that...especially if they go to the conference finals let alone win the chip because than those picks they gave up become low level trash.
If I had my choice now I would use that potential max contract they got and spin that into multiple good to great players...because u got AD and Lebron now build around them
Go get Ariza , Jamal Crawford and the like.

Damn man, I thought the Lakers were in a better bargaining position now that one year with LeBron had passed and AD was essentially an expiring contract since the Finals are over. Instead they push all their chips (with the dip, Drake you corny motherf***er) to the center of the table. Along with their wallet, car keys, cell phone, shoes, deed to their house, Mom's TV, and about 600 feet of stolen copper wire. Their shit storm was so bad with Magic leaving and all this bad press that New Orleans was like negotiating with a crackhead. New Orleans went from kinda hating basketball with the AD drama to holding all the cards. Good for them, that fanbase didn't do anything wrong.

But Draymond plays the 5 a lot in line-ups.

I think it all depends on who else the Lakers grab this offseason. With AD and Levron you are gonna need shooters
