My number one pick would have to be Arnold. He's just been in so many classics from T1, T2 True Lies, Predator, Total Recall, Commando, etc. Second is Jean-Claude Van Damme. His and Arnold's movies played on TV most when I was a kid so they're my guys from the 80's and 90's. For newer action stars is easily Jason Statham and I really think The Mechanic 1 is a bit of a gem. Who are you big fans of?

I have to say Van Damme. I was always more of a fan of martial arts films than ones more dependent on guns and explosions.

All time would be Awnald so many classics that I never get tired of watching...close second is Vandamme.
Currrently is Scott Adkins while not really main stream the dude puts out solid stuff and I consider him the modern day Vandamme....he did Hard Target 2 just to emphasis it and the undisputed trilogy is his BloodSpoot eqvuivilent.

Johnny Cage. Because Ninja Mime was the movie that inspired a generation (to want him to do something else).
Hell, the real reason Shao Kahn wanted to conquer Earthrealm was because he wanted to see Johnny make a sequel.

Arnold. I love that dude.
Van Damme and Bruce Willis are close, as well. Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig are considered for their turns as 007.

Gotta go Arnold as a number one, and you can’t count out how awesome Kurt Russell’s career is. Also it was nearly all westerns but I still have to stop on any time a John Wayne movie is on. He was the OG action hero.

Gotta go with Arnie. He's got the widest variety of awesome action movies. I don't even like most of the Terminator films, but movies like Predator, True Lies, and Total Recall I can watch any time over and over again.
Second is definitely Stallone. I love pretty much all the Rocky and Rambo movies. They are amazing. Besides that, Stallone has some very underrated action films like Assassins and Demolition Man.

Arnold. He had such a dorky charm that his contemporaries lacked.

Whenever Kurt Russell is a potential option, Kurt Russell wins.
Also, despite him starring in some of the worst atrocities ever committed to film, I'll always have a soft spot for Mark Dacascos. Can't wait to see him in John Wick 3.

There are many great ones, from Stallone down to Dudikoff, but Arnold is the king, in all his heavily accented, cheesy one-liner spouting glory.

Gotta go with Wesley Snipes, but JCVD is a very close second, though; I have nothing but good things to say about him. I also think Donnie Yen and Chow Yun Fat are incredibly overrated.
Does Antonio Banderas count as an action star? I know he generally leans towards drama, but Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico are among my favorite shoot 'em up movies.
