I highly recommend you give The Black Parade a listen. It's one of my favourite albums of the year. Not sure how much you like it, but I try to get as many people to listen to it as possible.

~Isn't it illegal to rhyme "fire" and "desire" in every song on your album? No? Well, it should be. Obviously, you haven't heard about 75% of Eurobeat songs. This is the most common rhyme in that entire genre.

I want to be fair, so I'll only criticise the metal bands. Testament - All their earlier thrash songs sound the same, so the only stand out songs they have are their ballads which are actually pretty good. Now when a thrash band is only good at ballads, something is wrong! Although the song Practise What You Preach is ok... And the less said about their death metal years, the better. Slipknot - Except for Duality and Before I Forget, all the songs are the same, unintelligible bullcrap. The only upside about Slipknot is Joey Jordison or whatever his name is, and there are still way better drummers than him. Tool - All their music is bland, their only song which is good to me is Lateralus. It goes for 9 minutes, but the build up is SOO drawn out the actual song only goes for like 3 minutes. Seriously. Mastodon - Put your instruments down RIGHT NOW! Walk away, and never ever look back. Cradle of Filth - First of all the vocals sound like a frog with a sore throat. Second of all the music is dull and uminventive and finally; when your best song is an Iron Maiden cover, somethings up. Children of Bodom - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You are a disgarace to Iron Maiden. =/

Children of Bodom - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The New Order and Souls of Black rule man! Also The Gathering was consistently voted as one of the best Metal albums of '99 so I don't know what you're talking about saying that their Death Metal years are not worth talking about. Children of Bodom - Hatecrew Deathroll is an awesome metal album as well, damn son.

Testament's Death Metal years are, IMO the only Testament worth talking about.

"Mastodon - Put your instruments down RIGHT NOW! Walk away, and never ever look back." Mastodon?! pistols at dawn, good sir!!! Yeah, I kinda think Testament songs can be a bit repetitive, but I saw them over the summer and it was one of the best shows i've ever been to, so I can't hate on them. INTO THE PIT!

I'm surprised at all the Testament hate. Alex Skolnick is an awesome guitar player.

Looks like i have some explaining to do with my Testament and Mastodon and Children of Bodom hate.
Testament's thrash stuff gets very stale very quickly. And I personally don't like death metal as a whole.
Mastodon, my only real hate into them is not buying into the hype. My mate was obsessing over them for a month before I gave them a listen, and I had read lots of positive reviews of them. My friend bought their new album, we gave it a listen and I was thinking 'Is this it?' and as the album kept going it all went downhill.
COB - No real hate to them, hence why I didn't give an explaination, I'm just not much of a fan despite all the love my friends give them.
There I explained myself, so WHY am I a disgrace to Maiden?

/\ see that's where I disagree... see, yeah Skolnick is easily the best guitarist they ever had, but TBPH a guy being able to shred 1000 notes a second just doesn't excite me like it did when I was 14, I'd rather listen to some head-caving riffs (BUY THE NEW DISMEMBER ALBUM!) than some guy wanking (which is why I hate Dragonforce). and Testament's Thrash days are pretty repetitive, Chuck didn't really come into his own until he developed his own style that wasn't aping James Hetfield and the band became more concerned with writing more original material (god bless Eric Peterson for finding out about Black Metal!). and that didn't start till around Low, by which point Skolnick was long gone (though James Murphy was no slouch on lead guitar either).

3 Doors Down- What exactly do they do that no one else does? Sing nonsensical lyrics about superman? Ah well, let's put anyone who sings like that in the same place as well. LOL nonsensical? That's new to me. And 3DD kicked ass when I saw them live in concert. As well as Silvertide and The Prom Kings, who opened up for them (Crossfade was supposed to be there too ) Good Charlotte Blink 182 Sum 41- Why do I group these people together? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SAME DAMN BAND! Try to differentiate their music, YOU CAN'T! I can, actually. Not a fan of GC, but I can tell the difference between Adam's Song (Blink 182)and Still Waiting (Sum 41). Linkin Park- Where do I begin? I would love to have this double the Green Day portion but I need a starting point. First off Rap and Rock should never mix to the degree you people do it. Second off your lyrics suck. Anyone disagree with me? Here's a sample: "Do I trust some and get fooled by phoniness, or do I trust nobody and live in loneliness?" The answer you nu-metal emo bastards is to live your life seeing as that's all you can do. So what if people are phoney what difference does it make Holden Caufield? Sure you're going to get hurt, but just because your girlfriend broke up with you doesn't give you a reason to shriek like a girl, and just because your father doesn't like you doesn't mean that your life is ruined. There are soldiers in wars dumbasses. In Darfur people are DIEING, how about you get out of your pretencious, self-obsessed, ebony temple and life for a change, contribute to society, and make good music? There, long enough. Fort Minor- Linkin Park only worse. I'm a big fan of Linkin Park's music, and I'm not emo. Figure that one out. I actually have NO IDEA what the hell you are talking about for the rest of that paragraph. Oh yeah, you try to make some kind of point with your "how about you contribute to society" tidbit. "Music for Relief is a program made in response to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. More recently, Music for Relief acted to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. Created by the members of Linkin Park, all donations go directly to aid victims of disasters and their families." So there goes that idea. And Fort Minor is NOTHING like Linkin Park, other than Mike Shinoda being in both groups. Do you even read what you type, or do you just hit random keys hoping to make points? Trivium Avenged Sevenfold Atreyu Bullet for my Valentine (notice a pattern?) Trivium I've never heard of, but I do like A7X, Atreyu, and BfmV. BfmV's latest song "Tears Don't Fall" is a pretty good song.

Dragonforce - Metalheads are all gooey over them. They're all nuts. It's Steve Perry from Journey, singing discarded Manowar lyrics over a Slayer cover band playing in a higher octave. That's a recipe for a migraine. LOL I knew I wasn't the only one who thought the singer sounds like Steve Perry.

I'm not a big fan of Linkin Park by any means...but even I can't really make much sense out of VRS's comments. That was pretty...um...well, wow.

I need to hear more of their later work. But I do agree that James Murphy is great.
