An an anti capitalist myself I'm not offended by it. The reality of the situation is that in in a capitalist system you will at some point have to come in contact with it. I have to go to work everyday to support my children..I sell my labor to a bunch of people who see me as nothing more than a barrier to their bottomline and profit..a neccesary evil whose impact on their financial gain has to be curbed as much as possible..am I a hypocrite. Hey, the Bolsheivik's managed to create a communist system, so did Castro. It's not like you are working for Rockefeller. You live in this society and of course you have to abide, I wouldn't want to see you go on a murderous rampage and kill tens of thousands. However they joined the absolute largest music group, then sing about how their employer is evil. They joined the Rockefeller, and didn't have to. It would be easier to accept them if they practiced what they preached. Beyond that it's the equivalent of someone running around killing people then yelling that killing people is wrong so they shouldn't do it. At least they are harmless. And personally I'm libertarian. I just enjoy the humor of the morons. And as to the person who said Distrubed sucks, I totally agree. I forgot to add them to my list. I have a friend who adores them for some reason. The only good thing I can say is that when they let their vocalist actually sing he's really good, he just never sings. And repedative power chords get really annoying after awhile. Is it that Metal bands are getting worse or that Metal as a whole is a mine that's been tapped?

Black eyed peas/Fergie : A binch of incoherant babbling songs featuring a terribly overrated hack female singer
Linkin Park: Im sorry, but most of their songs are just a bunch of whining.
Ashlee Simpson: To quote Vince McMahon: "Chirst she sucks"
John Mayer is alright, but all I keep thinking of is the SNL bit where Jimmy Fallon imitated him by just babbling and makng odd noises. He was spot on
Fallout boy: {Simon Cowell voice} Just awful
Korn: overrated, always have been always will be
Someone mentioned Justin Timberlake earlier, and while I am not a huge fan, the guy is pretty effing talented.

Is it that Metal bands are getting worse or that Metal as a whole is a mine that's been tapped? To go much farther would be to get into a political debate that is frowned upon on the forums. Lets just say that I understand any band that realizes the paradox of getting your anti system message out through that system. If they had stayed on their own label then they would be prety much preaching to the converted. You have you beliefs on the subject..I have mine. I will say that I obviously don't consider them morons..seeing as how I don't consider myself one..and none of my right wing or libertarian friends who know me do either.

I've heard the subject preached much more eloquently than on their albums. Not saying that followers of their beliefs lack intelligence, they just scream mottos and I don't know that they understand it. I've read their website on certain matters (Militaryfreezone) and certain facts seem to fly over their heads. But yes, I wouldn't expect to go any farther. As it lies on them do you know how many Justin Sanes there are out there? And thank you other person who agrees with me about Linkin Park!

Hopefully this is ok to post, since it's not in reference to anything too specific, but I pretty much can't listen to any band or artist that I'm supposed to like just because their lyrics are so politically smart. If the band is political and also has an interesting sound, I'll listen to that, but I'd rather listen to a band that sounds interesting but isn't much lyrically than a band that has initelligent political lyrics but bland music.
Don't get me wrong, I can definitely appreciate good lyrics, but I think some people put too much emphasis on the artist's personal world view and so forth than how good someone's music actually is. In fact, even if someone has political views that I find apalling, if they make an interesting record, and someone I agree with politically makes a musically uninteresting record, I'll pick the more interesting music everytime.

Just to be clear...are you referring to JUSt Anti Flag about only shouting slogans and not understanding the ideology? And yes...there is a difference between a three minute punk song and Understanding Power. The fact is..there is always a limit on how in depth you are going to be able to talk about a political topic in the confines of song lyrics..which is why they shout slogans instead of two page lectures on the WTO.

Just how seriously do you think my statement is considering I stuck a heart at the end? - - - - - - - - MOAR!!! Celine Dion - If I hear that damned Titanic song again, I will go postal. Whitney Houston - See Celine Dion but replace Titanic song with Bodyguard Song Meatloaf - You know why. That one song off of BooH II which is two lines sung repeatedly for twenty minutes.

Just to be clear...are you referring to JUSt Anti Flag about only shouting slogans and not understanding the ideology? Pretty much it. Read the stuff on their site, while they may understand the ideology they don't understand really how to apply it or what's really going on. And you can do more in a song than just sing "f*** the flag" for three minutes. That just seems cheap to me. And to the guy who said mentioned that Meat Loaf song that goes on for 20 minutes singing the title over and over again, you realize you just mentioned most of his music?
