Maybe not in it’s 2016 levels, but a lot better than 2017. I feel like the 2017 draft sucked away a lot of great Smackdown stars like Ambrose and the Miz, but after this years draft they have been killing it!

I wouldn't go so far as to say great, but there's aspects of it I like and some hopefulness, which isn't a word I've been throwing around a lot lately about pretty much any of the shows.

I haven't found it consistently must-see, but it's been mostly good with the occasional great show.
Admittedly a few crap shows in there too, and criticisms about not making the best of the full roster are valid.

I can tell you for sure that the three hour block of Smackdown/205 Live is a thousand times more watchable than the three hour Raw.

It's, at the very least, much more watchable than RAW.

It's consistently aight and so is 205 Live, so I've been watching them for the past 2 weeks I've come back to the product. Neither of the weeks have blown me away, but they've done enough to keep me interested in tuning in next week, so I'm staying on board.

It's not exactly re-inventing the wheel in any way, but it's solid enough weekly TV right now. I mean, really, it's only RAW right now that isn't, yet you'd think the whole company was going down the toilet for all the emphasis put on RAW's lack of momentum right now.

I missed tonight (kicking myself for missing Styles/Almas), but the recent month I caught of SD ranged from decent to good. It isn't back to 2016 levels, but some tweaks here and there and I think it could compete. They legit have one of the best rosters right now with Styles, Joe, Almas, Bryan, Hardy, (a seemingly motivated) Orton, and a good tag division.

I don't know about great, but it's been mostly really solid since the shakeup. It's worth watching every week at least because the roster is stacked and there are a lot of fresh matchups.

Smackdown is pretty much what is keeping me interested in WWE. Although right now I think Raw's women's division is better, mainly because Ronda Rousey has exceeded my expectations. I'm over Carmella's title reign.

I thought the last couple of weeks were fairly meh, but tonight's was good, and on the whole its been solid since the Shakeup.

There have been worrying trends. The last few weeks in particular have been but on the whole, since the shakeup, it's been at least decent.
What made 2016 so great for SDL was the pacing and especially the character work. It was even better than NXT in that respect. I don't think you're getting back to that level.
But what we got last night was, in the best way, booked similarly to NXT. There are far worse fates.

It's hard to be worse than Jinder as champion.

I'm really digging Smackdown at the moment. While it still has a lot of shortcomings, it's using it's two hours way better than Raw uses its 3, and the story lines and booking (amazingly) are on point.
Is Road Dogg on holidays or do we have to give the devil his due?

Is Road Dogg on holidays or do we have to give the devil his due? My one problem with Smackdown Live is that they've always had a 'if you're not building to our next PPV, then f*** off' mentality. It hasn't gotten any worse but it hasn't been any better. Road Dogg tweeted something just this week about how much he loves Primo. And yet, he hasn't bothered to use the guy in any meaningful way since early last year. They seem to have no problem leaving big names off an episode, but when that happens they don't replace those guys with people who need the air time. I don't know. When Smackdown is good, I'm tempted to say it could use twenty more minutes to feature an extra guy or two. At least it needs a B-show.

I 100% agree and when I said it still has its shortcomings that's what I meant. They are too focused at getting the PPV storylines on the show and nothing else. If they spread it out better to feature more of the underused talent, in a way like NXT does, it would be much much better.

Best part about Smackdown is that lack of Roman showing up multiple times and the announcers slobbering all over it.

SD would be a very good show if they would just get the women's belt off Carmella. I'm already leery though since it's obvious Becky beats her next week to do the SS match, so are they going to put Becky over again at SS? I dunno. Personally I'd have Ellsworth try something at SS and Asuka can beat the crap out of him and Becky gets the win.

Ellsworth gets involved and Becky wins with a Double Disarmer on Mella and Da Big Hawg at the same time

Hopefully its almost over.
