Hey guys. I am becoming a huge fan of STW, but I need some assistance. This show has a large number of catchphrases and recycled jokes like “Well You Know” And “Chicken Salad” And “I Used to be Over”. I can’t find a good list of explanations for these. Could I call upon the hive mind to help me with the origins for these?
Thank you in advance.

I used to be over was used since the first episode, it was an inside joke about Bruce being depressed over him being reduced to running a podcast.
Well you know is one of Jerry Jarrett idiosyncrasies, he says that everytime he speaks often multiple times in a sentence. Bruce usually parodies this. Sadly the impression sounds exactly like Jerry Jarrett speaks on interviews. It appeared for the first time on the steroid trial episode. Bruce was shutting down the rumor that Jarrett was gonna run the wwe if Vince went to jail, he then told a story about how Jarrett spoke in every creative meeting and hearing "Well you know" drove him crazy.
Chicken Salad also appeared for the first time on the steroid trial episode. Bruce told a story about a creative meeting and they were in Vince's mansion. Vince had his own private chef and he asked what they wanted for lunch. Jerry had the nerve to tell a f***ing chef how to do a chicken salads step by step. "Well you know, you take the chicken and you chop it up, and you know, you take the walnuts, and some mayo..."

Thanks for everything. I've just been going through all of his t-shirts online and there are so many in-jokes I feel like I'm lost. Stuff like "Pronouns Pal" and "I've got an Ideal!" Now "And then the bell rang" I got because I head that used to describe "Hustler" Rip Rogers. Basically When he walked into the arenas he had a good look, was built, could cut a good promo, seemed to have all the tools...and then the bell rang.

doot doot doot is another one Wasn’t that from the edge and Christian pod? Or was “*sniff* here we go” the only Hayes impression from them Door Doot Doot was created by Brian Gewirtz, it has no explanation, Brian just one day saw Hayes walking on his dollar store pimp outfit and said that Hayes made that noise when he walked. Chocolate titties started when Bruce was doing a Vince impression of him asking Jackie to show her boobs in a European show. I got an ideal is apparently how Hayes sounds when he's pitching something. Not to be confused with I got an idea! How about I kick your ass! That one is Bob Holly pitching a storyline. Brutus the f***ing Barber Beefcake was coined by Conrad in the Mr Perfect episode. He almost had an aneurysm when he learned that Beefcake was the first person to defeat Mr Perfect and break his streak. Top five I think started in the new age outlaws episode. Conrad asked Bruce to rank the outlaws and he said they were top five, Conrad pressured him to say what teams where better than the outlaws and he said more than five teams. Singing "spend all day..." that's Jeff Jarrett's old wwe theme when he was country star. It started on the first tna episode. Bruce just randomly started to sing it. He's a heel! I don't remember the episode but it's a Jim Cornette impression trying to explain the basics of booking to a stupid Vince Russo. She pooted! It's from the Sunny episode. They were describing a scene from the Sunny porn. No Yob! I think it's from the royal rumble 97 episode. Bruce told a story about Mil Mascaras speaking English fluently, but everytime he was asked to lose and put someone over, he pretended that he couldn't speak English and just yelled "No yobl" Cock a doodle doo or Cock a doodle doo man. It's from the first episode I think. It's Bruce making fun of Terry Taylor.

Even if those topics don't particularly interest you on paper, a major chunk of the show's in-jokes and call-backs come from those two installments.

So you couldn’t pitch him something like “Hulk slams Andre and hits Heenan, then he wins” Vince would say, “He who? Pronouns pal, goddamn”.

I've only been listening for about a year and felt the same way initially. However, through this board and going through the shows I was able to put the pieces together. I didn't listen to the shows in order, which didn't help, but eventually I picked up on the references the more I listened. Give it time and soon they'll be a firm part of the show for you. Oh, you might also have heard 'Butch Reed was over in Florida' mentioned. I didn't know this one myself and had to ask, but apparently it's Bruce justifying why Reed was put into a random match with Hogan in Florida.

B 32 or A 26. Bruce would yell bingo numbers while talking about the ecw arena. This appeared on the 1997 ecw invasion episode. It used to piss Conrad off.
Allow me another volley sir! This also appeared on that episode. It's Bruce's impression of Paul Heyman telling a lie or some bullshit.
