SummerSlam needs to be a fresh start for WWE

Obviously the creative process isn't going to change, but they need to make SummerSlam count.

I dunno how they'll do it, but if I were in charge, this is what I'd do to the title scene:

Brock's 9 billion year reign needs to end and we need to see the title on the damn show consistently. I don't really care if it's Roman, though it should be Braun.

AJ's title reign is getting a little stale and Joe could hold it for a month or two, AJ can reclaim it for a minute before Miz steals it away.

Alexa needs a real break from the title and Evolution needs good title matches that feel huge, so Ronda holding the title would feel that way.

Get that f***ing belt off Carmella right the f*** now. She's not ready for it and she devalues it at this time.

The Bludgeon Brothers are just doing nothing, as much as I hate the pancake shtick, New Day are still producing A+ matches.

The B-Team retains, they're over and they're fresh.

Nakamura retains, Jeff's not in the condition to hold it and Nakamura is still getting good heel reactions.

I dunno about Dolph, I think Seth is spinning his wheels where he's at, I'd like to see someone lower than Seth knock Dolph down.

Roman desperately needs either a heel turn or a lengthy break to possibly heal up.

Brock needs to lose and then f*** off.

Samoa Joe needs to win the title.

If Bryan is leaving I'd go with Bryan winning his last SummerSlam match. Then this sets up Miz going crazy and we Bryan vs. Miz in HIAC with Miz winning the feud similar to the Punk/Jeff feud in 2009.

If WWE needs a change of the status quo to freshen things up you can almost guarantee you'll get one of those "nothing really happens, tune in next month!" shows like f***ing Mania perplexingly was.

Carmella losing the belt seems obvious but at the same time one of those things that WWE keep on delaying for (non-existent) heat. It is interesting how Charlotte's only been back two weeks and it already feels like Carmella's being overshadowed by Charlotte/Becky as the more important story.

1) Roman absolutely needs to win on Sunday. It was "give him the belt or go with someone else" time back in April.
2) I agree with Samoa Joe winning the title. If they go with Miz/Bryan for WrestleMania, there's plenty of time for Styles to win it back as a transitional champion for Miz.
3) I'd actually have Ziggler win and have Balor dethrone him later. Maybe Dean interferes and screws up, beginning the rivalry with him and Rollins.
4) Nakamura should have a lengthy US Title reign.
5) They shouldn't stall on putting Rousey at the top. Especially since they have an all women PPV to promote.
6) Charlotte should do something underhanded to steal the title, setting up Becky as the babyface to dethrone her later.

7)I would rather see The Revival as champions.
8)I'm a Harper/Rowan mark. Have them win on Sunday, and then Sanity feuds with them as antiheroes. The New Day have an amicable breakup where they pursue singles gold.

9)Cruiserweight Title: Not sure because I don't watch 205 Live much. From what I've seen, Ali should be the top face IMO.


I don't know about anyone else, but Summerslam could determine whether or not I take a break from watching WWE for a while. I only have so much time to watch wrestling, and there's a lot of NJPW I could catch up on.

Agree with all apart from Harper/Rowan losing. I quite like the BB still and think there's a big hoss title fued with Sanity left in them.

I don't remember being so indifferent about an upcoming Summerslam than I am right now. I'm obviously going to watch, but I have very low expectations for this card. Hopefully this helps me enjoy Sunday night more.

Probably take a page out of Gargano/Ciampa and mix it up a bit

DB probably should win the 1st match. Assuming Joe wins the WWE title at some point you put all these guys in a multi man match Joe/Miz/DB/(Probably AJ) and you have Miz steal the win

He can gloat the title over DB which leads to him winning the Royal Rumble and challenging Miz at Mania

WWE definitely needs a refresh. Take their perceived top faces & heels right now. Reigns & Lesnar as top guys both need to cool off for a long time. I think Roman is winning Sunday, but the situation isn’t going to get much better the following night unless a major angle kicks off due to him winning. A mild heel turn isn’t doing the trick- needs to be an NWO type of event.

I have no idea what they do with Bliss/Rousey. If they give Rousey the belt, who can beat her? If they keep it on Bliss via shenanigans, a stale champ stays in place. I really think they are keeping it on Bliss as Rousey winning the belt to sign off the Women’s PPV would be the moment they want for that show.

Decent chance no womens title changes until Evolution. NXT included. Don't see AJ losing either, he could go to the Rumble with the heels on Smackdown.

WWE will give the illusion of a fresh start and then 24hrs later right back to square one because that is sadly how this entire thing is structered

No matter who wins and loses at summerslam atleast the next 3 ppvs will be dedicated to the same f***ing rematches...and oh yea throw in a stipulation that does nothing to change the feud at all except to try and convince someone they are trying to be creative.

It needs to be...too bad it won't. Call me crazy but I think Lesnar is retaining on Sunday. I think WWE is just stubborn enough to drag this out until they get the exact reaction they want. I just don't see Reigns going into NY to a hero's welcome and leaving to the cheers and admiration of the fans in the arena while confetti falls from the ceiling...lol. They want that...but it's not happening in NY of all places. The only things to freshen up WWE will be Rousey getting the women's title and Carmella losing the SD one. 

Those are the only changes I think will happen.

I think that despite being an iffy show on paper, the lack of part timers is a great sign. Yes we have Brock, but no Trips or Taker for example.

Plus a feud with The Bar which I have more interest in then another match against New Day.
