Styles flipping out on Joe with a chair. Gargano’s becoming more violent and less stable dealing with Ciampa. Lynch decking Flair, Rousey eating Bliss alive, Braun killing Owens dead. And Lesnar finally lost.
Things aren’t perfect, but after so many heels dominating in 2017, it’s a fresh change of atmosphere IMO. They don’t feel like geeks lately.

Having babyfaces who get the job done is refreshing.

I mean, Styles being 'emotional' is a pretty consistent character trait. Which is nice.
But it really does lead to some cheap and unsatisfying match conclusions.

Faces always need to have an extra edge over their heel opponents. The difference is that the faces hold back because they're good guys. Once you push them though? That should be it. It's like what Bruno did back in the day. He put up with a lot of shit but when the guy was pushed? He ended it or at least that's what I thought by watching old Youtube clips so I could just be saying stuff lol.
But yeah, faces going overboard and f***ing up their opponents is one reason why Austin was the dude. He was a face who didn't give a f*** lmao.
"I'm not a killa but don't PUSH ME!!!!!!!!!!"

Gotta throw Finn in this conversation, too.
It was so nice not having him be the smiley “extra ordinary” guy, at least for one night.

There’s some old Bob Backlund matches during his classic face run where he hammers on heels hard. He’s pushed as the all American boy, but I heard him go “c’mon you son of a bitch!” against someone (might have been Harley Race, but it happened).

Ricky Steamboat is a fine example. Piss him off, hear comes the Strangulation via Black Belt.
