I’d say Becky is 1996/1997 Austin at this point. Over with the fans, but still going to do heelish antics and not give a single shit. If they play it right (which they won’t) it’ll be something huge down the line if they decide to turn her back (which they won’t.)

So she will also be coming out at HITC to put Braun through a table?

I can’t remember the last time a woman on the main roster was this over and it blows my mind they’re determined to not capatilize on it lol Writer: Becky Lynch is really getting over, maybe we should do something with her as a face. Vince: maybe....is she related to Ric Flair? writer: no. Vince: The Rock? writer: no. Vince: Me? writer: no. Vince: clearly you need to be fired for suggesting this. You’ve got 7 minutes to get out before I make you watch every Raw from this year “A Clockwork Orange” style. writer hauls ass out of there. writer 2: hey Vince, I’ve got a great idea where Roman Reigns spears a Clydesdale. Vince: go on.....

Did it seem to anyone else like they were dialing back on making her an overt heel?
Watch the video package. Nothing about the fans.
Watch how they let the crowd boo Charlotte to close the show.
Listen, especially, to how Tom talks about Becky after her attack. Tom isn't describing a heel and Byron isn't whining about it. It almost felt like they called an audible.

Nobody flat out went “that dastardly Becky attacking Charlotte from behind after her match!”, they simply let it play out and weren’t heavy handed about it. They also didn’t describe Becky as a heel at all, they kinda sympathized with her.

There is nothing wrong or "evil" about what she has done. She is justified. Fans in the know and casuals clearly see that Charlotte returned after being away for three months only to get a number one contender shot the week after her return and just destroys Carmella for the opportunity. She then blindsided Becky in the title match and pinned her for the win in a match where in kayfabe she doesn't deserve after being away for months. The company can spin this shit like oh Charlotte needs these wins because not many fans are behind her which was their reasoning for her winning the Divas title in 2015 and the Womens title in 2016. It's Bullshit you have had 5 years of building this woman and she just isn't connecting to the extent of the Bellas, Sasha, Bayley and Becky and even Alexa Bliss. She is great in the ring but her character and mic work is still trash.

I went back to watch and I think there might be some hope after all. It's one week. I think it's important that she's still cheered as loudly as she was tonight, which was louder than Bryan, so WWE can't just go back to their boring black and white narrative. Another thing: there were a lot of minutes left in the show. Becky could have brutally attacked Charlotte. There was no heel beatdown. She just went for the title and delivered a message. I'm confused. I don't know what to make of WWE being subtle.

I don't know what to think here. What I can gather that it was steered a bit more towards Lynch being slightly less of a heel this week because she didn't heel out on the crowd, but again, I don't f***ing know what they're gonna do here.

So they didnt pull "Bizarro land" with this? They seemed to just... call the actions, I suppose. Phillips said Lynch sneak attacked Charlotte, because well, she DID. But there wasn't much, if any of that "OOH THAT DIRTY DAMN JEZEBEL" type stuff either.

I mentioned in another thread, I think WWE is slowly coming around to this. Last weekend they took to social media asking fans if they supported Becky Lynch's decision and the overwhelming results were in Becky's favor. I think the one thing WWE sometimes forgets is just because someone is attacked by their friend, it does not mean fans wil be sympathetic

At the same time, Becky did decidedly hit Charlotte from behind this week, instead of doing it to her face like at Summerslam.

At the same time, Becky did decidedly hit Charlotte from behind this week, instead of doing it to her face like at Summerslam. That said, that's only an inherently heel action when they say it is. Commentary steers the narrative as we all know. It's very common for fired up babyfaces to attack from behind, for example... Look at that damn son of a bitch Daniel Bryan attack poor innocent Triple H from behind, right?

I was at RAW and at SD.
Becky got the loudest pop of anybody over the two nights. The crowd was super hot for her.
