What an intro. These words were spoken at the infamous Heroes of Wrestling PPV in 1999. For those who read the original WrestleCrap induction of this, we heard the soundbite of this not quite "Let's Get Ready To Rumble!" phrase.
They were spoken by ring announcer Crisper Stanford. (Yeah, that was his name apparently.) He apparently also dropped another gem of a line right before it in "Throw down your toys and get out of the sandbox. Playtime's over."
Seriously, Heroes of Wrestling was quite the mix of 'funny' and 'woulda been funny if it wasn't so sad'. Sadly there was more of the latter. Like an impaired Jake "The Snake" Roberts intentionally losing a fictional game of Blackjack.

He was a last second replacement for Gordon Solie who had to bow out due to health concerns, before that Randy was a collegiate commentator covering such events as volly-ball and track and field. So yeah not surprising he was to be generous a little out of his depth there. |
