As announced by frontman Robb Flynn himself last week.
Phil Demmel and Dave McClain both quit the band, and Robb stated in his announcement that he blames himself for their departures. He went on to call himself a "barnacle" and that while his drive and rage has fueled much of the band's success, he feels it has also hurt everyone around him. He then said their current tour would go on as planned but that it would be a farewell tour.
Personally, while I think they've done quite a lot of good music during over two decades in metal, Catharsis was a disaster and had me wondering if Robb and co. had jumped the shark for good.

Robb says it’s a farewell tour for this lineup of the band, not the project. In any case I can’t wait to not go to that show.

They were one of my favorite metal acts of the '90s. "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change" were incredible, but after "Burning Red," I didn't care for the direction the band was taking, and never went back. I saw them live with LoG and it was a good show, if only to hear their older songs live.

With this news and Slayer being put to bed. I wouldn't be surprised if Robb Flynn eventually hooked up with Kerry King and Phil Anselmo to produce some weak overhyped Pantera worship albums.

I saw them live a few months ago and while they were great live.... there were times when I wished that Robb Flynn would just shut the f*** up with his ranting in between songs.

Saw them live in May and he did talk a lot not so much ranting but it was cool he interacted with the audience a lot. Happy I got to see them live again (was the 3rd time for me but first for them as a headliner) before they split. Shame it's going to end in this album though didn't really enjoy it at all. Few good songs but not great one's.

Shame, one of the very first bands I ever saw live, at Ozzfest '97.
