It's not entirely unusual to see the Bellas switching alignments like, well, some here would switch socks.
However, a constant back-and-forth between locker rooms has been bad for the profile of those wrestlers who engage in it. Exhibit A of this has to be Paul Orndorff who started in WWF as a heel, then turned face, then infamously turned heel against Hogan, then again turned face, seemingly without explanation. After the second time he turned face he was never as high-profile again and slid precipitously down the card until he left WWF. We make jokes about Big Show's turns and, I suppose, after 20-odd years in the business, multiple turns are considered inevitable - but it used to be something rare, very judiciously applied, and backed up by some very intentional booking decisions.
When there is little rhyme or reason to the turn except as a cynical effort to get a superstar to face a different set of opponents, there's less of an impact on audiences except in the form of "go away" heat. Ronda's savage burn on Nikki aside, the Bellas just don't have the audience's interest anymore and really don't deserve the spot they now occupy, IMO. A huge part of that these days is because they've been turned too often and haven't been around all that much to make those turns stick.
Thoughts?

Do I want to see them? Nah, but they still get big reactions when they come out so I can't agree with them not having the audience's interest anymore.

Their turning patterns seemed fairly straightforward until like 2014/2015. That’s when it got proper wacky.

The Bellas are really over. I know there are large sections of the internet that don’t like them, but they get a big reaction every time they are out there, and they get the desired reaction. When they are heels they’ll get booed, when they are faces they get cheered. They are also legitimate cross over stars; while not A-listers like The Rock, they get featured in mainstream entertainment outlets that don’t normally focus on wrestling. They are a WWE success story, and that is why they are still getting focus.
As for their alignment, they can play either and (like I said) get the desired reaction from the crowd. That opens them up to being used various ways. The only time I remember their face/heel dichotomy being a problem was during Nikki’s long title reign. Brie didn’t get a satisfactory heel turn (going from being Nikki’s “bitch” to them being chummy again with no reason given) and then they both turned face for a few weeks when Paige was written off with an injury and they were going up against the newly heel Naomi, only to be heel again once Paige was back. It was poor writing, but again, the fans went along with it.

Orndorff had the two big turns which were pretty sensible from a booking standpoint, his injury pushed him out & then down the card before his last face run where he was pretty much putting Rick Rude over.
You have them, Nattie & Mickie who can elevate younger talent in a meaningful way without losing any of their own heat. The Bellas are way more over than the other two, so if they need them to work as heels for Ronda, then so be it. If they have to move back to faces in short order to elevate someone else- then do it.

Your avatar reminds me of how in the WrestleMania thread, people were complaining that Naomi won the women battle royal, all while the crowd was cheering wildly. Same sort of principle, I think.

Honestly, I don't care for them much, but they're *absolutely* over as hell.

Not until they have a backstage meeting with Gary Spivey. Does it come with a shitty/fantastic new theme like Paul got?

Side note: The Bellas and Paul Orndorff are not who you'd expect to see in the same sentence.

Brie seems like a really lovely person but at this point I really feel like she's dragging Nikki down.

Have they really turned that often? This is all off the top of my head, but they debuted in 2008 as faces, and turned in 2010/1, then left in 2012. They returned still heel in 2013, but turned face later in the year after Total Divas started. Nikki turned heel against Brie in 2014, then Brie joined her a few months later. Nikki got hurt in late 2015, and Brie turned face just before retiring in 2016. Nikki returned as a face in 2016 before basically retiring in 2017. So that’s a total of four, then five after turning on Rousey. Five turns in ten years really isn’t that much. Though I could of course be forgetting something.

Comparing the Bellas to Mr Wonderful is wrong on a cosmic level.
