I've been listening to the AWA deep dives. I can't think of Verne Gange without "I AM Minnesota", "30 years in the business" & "Dyna-Powder".

Or him trying to convince Jim Crockett that he deserved the whole gate because he trained Flair, and Crockett going “what the f*** is this Minnesota math bullshit?”

Part 2 is also up, 2 Parts of 1985 (Parts 2 and 3) up on the same day Holy sheet, I started listening to part 3, I didn’t even realize there was over 5 hours in part 2 first. Had to hit pause and circle back. I didn’t realize they dropped 2 episodes at once. This is a whole week’s worth of entertainment. I honestly feel like I need to contribute to their patreon or however it is people pay them. Same here. I just set a reminder in my phone to sign up on the first of the month. I was about to do it today, but I don't want to be charged for the full month when it is halfway finished.

Great episode, I like how JP became a big fan of Gino Hernandez.
I have a question for fans that lived in Texas during that time, how was Fritz viewed by the public? Also Jack mentioned that the Von Erich’s would blow off charity and community appearances, did that add to the stigma of wccw?

JP is right Glenn Goza was an assclown haha THAT'S RASSLING! Christ that was terrible. It makes the WrestleRock Rumble look like Jay-Z's Blueprint. Also wasn't ready for a deep dive into the psychoanalysis of Fitz Von Eric.

One of the biggest things I'm learning from this is Kevin wasn't the "saint" I thought he was. Kevin is the one that survived, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a F up too.

Other than the cats rumors, which I hope are false because what the f***, I’ve never heard stories about him being a huge f*** up like Kerry and Mike, he just partied and did drugs for the most part but never to the levels of smuggling dope from Tijuana or attacking ER doctors. I have a theory, Kevin was the second oldest behind Jackie, and he got to watch Fritz before Jackie’s death made him a psychopath, so other than Jackie dying, Kevin and David had a normal childhood and didn’t got spoiled like Kerry and the rest. I always got the feeling that Kevin and David took it seriously. Kevin was a f*** up, but not a trainwreck like the rest of the family.

Man, was there ANYONE in World Class who didnt have problems? Black Bart? The Simpson Brohers? Eric Embry? It would nice to know if there was someone respectable there. I will say this about Kerry, he comforted Bret after Bret's brother Dean died by telling him that his 3 brothers (Jack, David, and Mike) would take care of him in Heaven (please dont turn this into a discussion about religion), and it apparently meant a lot to Bret. Bart and Embry were decent and nobody ever shits on them. Gary Hart was somewhat of a carny but he never f***ed anyone over or did shady stuff to people. Worst I remember ever hearing about Embry was just a little bit of an ego and walking around naked a lot, in Mick's first book. Still a good guy, just those quirks. Though, Mick said if he was hung like that, he'd walk around naked, too, but that Eric was never quite the same after Robert Fuller came through the territory, and that "Tennessee Stud" was a well-earned nickname for Fuller. Embry, 2 Cold Scorpio, Fuller, man Mick talked about dicks a lot in Have a Nice Day. Though, the sequel brought us The Legend of the Penis Suplex. Hmm.

Lol Fuller’s dick was so big that Embry stopped being naked in the locker room. The other sad story about poor Eric was that he lived on the Sportsatorium. I used to think it was bullshit but Jerry Jarrett said that it was true on a recent interview. That wccw got so bad at the end that Eric couldn’t afford anywhere to live. To quote Gary Hart, “the Sportsatorium was the world’s most glorified shithole”.

Kevin took doing what his dad told him seriously. He didn't want to be a wrestler and was headed for the NFL before a knee injury in college. He was as much a trainwreck as the others.

There actually was a Mark Von Erich, but he was just guy using the name without permission in the late 80s/early 90s in the ArkLaTex area.

Do you have stories about Kevin being as bad as the others? Of a public disaster by him? Nah, Kevin was better than the others in, well, not getting arrested or dying. But yeah, he was out there racing down roads coked out and having his way with female fans and the like. The thing about him though that makes him a bit different from his brothers is that Kevin was, for want of a better term, Fritz's right-hand man inside the family. Or enforcer, whichever gets the point across. If Fritz demanded something got done or a lesson got learned and it wasn't something he could do on his own, Kevin was there.

Oh no, the Mike Von Erich press conference and his return are starting to make sense.
