And I can't get rid of the furry son of a bitch! I've tried using the Decon boxes and the glue traps, but neither of them have worked so far. I don't want to use the poison pellets because I don't want it dying in my walls and rotting. Does anyone have any other tips for getting rid of it?

Peppermint oil. Get a bottle at any GNC, mix it in a spray bottle with some warm water. Spray it around your home, particularly in cabinets and cupboards, heavy emphasis on anywhere you’ve seen the mouse or his...signatures (i.e. poop). Might also consider some mothballs in the same places. The smell drives them off, it really works.

Also, for levity: But seriously, I want this thing out of my house. EDIT: Peppermint oil. Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow.

simple, get some snakes. snakes are a natural predator of most small rodents and will happily remove any mice from your house.
of couse multple snalkes would be better as they can capture and eat more. also, keeping more snakes in your house will most likely produce breeding pairs and that means more and more baby snakes that can live with you.
yes, quicker than you can say "viper" you'll have more snakes than you'll be able to feed. and than you can sleep in safety and comfort knowing that you've got dozens of these critters paroling your home in the darkness.
glad i could help.

Try an old fashioned proper mousetrap, but use peanut butter as the bait instead of cheese. Long story short 'mice love cheese' is a bit of a myth, they prefer peanut butter. Also, because the peanut butter is sticky they're more likely to set off the trap, unlike cheese which they can just eat off without setting off the trap.
Get a few traps if you can, put them next to walls/in corners/in gaps beside the oven or fridge. You're more likely to get them there.
Also, check your skirting boards for little gaps to see where it might have gotten in - they can squeeze through super small spaces - and if you find any, plug them with steel wool. They can't eat it or nest with it, so they leave it alone.
(I moved into a house once in a country town, and discovered mice basically thought they owned the house. I slept to a symphony of mousetraps going off for way too long.)

Peanut butter on a trap works most of the time, they can’t resist that stuff.

Ramik Green poison. Part of the way it kills them makes them thirsty so they leave the house looking for water and die outside. Worked well for me in the past.

There's a mouse in your house? How do you think I feel?
I've got Buddhists playing bagpipes in the bathroom, Hindus harmonizing in the hall, and The Shintos are shattering sheet glass in the shithouse and shouting slogans.

I'm not against you killing the mouse.
That being said, glue traps are often particularly cruel. If you must use them, please check them often and put the little guy out of his misery so he doesn't slowly suffocate or starve to death. The squeaks of terror they make are particularly pitiful. There is a lot of suffering involved in them.
I second the use of peanut butter and traditional traps. There is a much greater chance of a quick, clean death.
You can buy catch and release traps that work quite well, if that's an option for you.
