If I remember correctly, Stacy Keibler had a huge crush on Kane because he was a nice gentlemen who was very respectful. He was flattered but declined, as he was happily married. You know, I actually have my own Kane story that I think fits here. I once attended a house show in 2003 or 2004 and sat on the floor where the wrestlers could shake your hands when they came out for their matches. Sitting right in front of me was a young, blonde woman with huge breasts. While not my type, I could see how others could be smitten with her. So, every single wrestler that came out flirted with her and she would flirt with them. It was almost embarrassing to watch all these guys do this. I particularly remember Randy Orton and Batista came out for a tag match and Batista was doing his pose/entrance routine and Orton spotted her and slapped Batista on the back to get his attention and said, "Yo, Dave, check out the b**** with the big tits...." And they both started flirting with her. Even Chris Benoit flirted with her. The only two guys who did not were Eugene, who had just debuted on television, and was so deep in character that I don't think he noticed her and Kane. Kane walked right past her as she tried to flirt with him and he wouldn't give her the time of day. Right there, I thought, "Man, Kane must be a pretty stand-up guy. He is on the road to support his family, not pick up chicks." Mind you, this thought was in my mind years before I would find out how beloved the guy was by everyone in the company.

I forget who told the story, I think Lawler but the company made Kane take some time off. Eventually he calls “Ok, I’m ready for some dates”. The office said “Ok, we can do some appearances...” he says “No, on the road, I’m bored out of my mind”.

This an old story about Kane that floats around every now and then: he turned down Stacy Keibler.

This is even funnier knowing that Punk can’t actually fight lmao

It boils down to Punk proclaiming himself "the locker room leader." Kane is considered a locker room leader. He doesn't go around calling himself "THE" locker room leader. It was a self-appointed title said in front of someone who had way more years in and paid way more dues than Punk at that point. That's why Booker did what he did. If Punk had just said "come on, guys. what is this? we're not children, pick up your trash," it would have gotten the point across better and maybe helped someone like Booker gain more respect for Punk. Would it though? He's part of the 'Wrestler's Court' posse who tortured rookies for any perceived infraction on some unwritten lockerroom law and is still picking fights with people he worked with while training. As much as I like Booker's work, guy is kind of a douche.

Add this story to the contrast of Aleistar Black talking about Roman and Roman told him stop cleaning up the locker room, he belongs here and he wants him to be comfortable This is the kinda stuff that gets overlooked when discussing locker room leaders and such. Point blank, unless you got that "scare" factor like Chris Benoit (and even then, he was a bullying asshole so do you really wanna be like that?), people aren't gonna f*** with you if you are mean to everybody. You can be the best in the world at your job, having the bare minimum of people skills is still a requirement. Meanwhile, there are guys like Roman who, while not praised as the best at their job, they clearly work hard, perform fairly well under the conditions presented, and (most importantly) they treat people well. Hence, people geuniely look up to them and respect what they say. Kane seems to be like that as well. Nobody likes an asshole. That extends to any professional work space. It makes you appreciate the Shield more to a degree backstage. I've read stories and reports of all 3 guys being locker room leaders in their own right with their own unique style to it.
Roman is the kind of leader that speaks up for everyone, he calls shots, he's that dude. He's the guy that takes the bullet for the team and with that said he's expected to be there early and be there late, he's the figurehead leader. In a way Reigns is similar to a mix of Cena and an Undertaker in how he is and that's perfect for him. I can't wait for him to return. Ambrose is said to be someone similar to a Kane in that he does what he's told, works hard, day in and day out, just that laidback guy who's there showing you how it's done and setting a great example for what others need to do. He's that quiet workhorse. He's said that he leads by example, people see that and do that. It's why when Ambrose was out with an injury Reigns said they lost a locker room leader and that scene took a hit for a while. Mind you when Ambrose was on SDL he was always in the main event and even in the IC title scene he got prime spots, when he went to Raw he had the most segments a great amount of the time. He's that dude.. Rollins is that guy always giving advice to the younger talent, helping them when he can, going to NXT and is still getting main event opportunities due to his dedication and consistency. No matter what happens with Ambrose, Reigns, Lesnar or anyone else the company loves Rollins is always there in a prime position looking well and that's due to what the company sees in him. He's not The Guy but he's treated as just as good similar to a Triple H when he wasn't COO.
All 3 guys are their own type of leader in their own way.
To this day the fact we've got 3 main eventers that came from that one stable who are each different and yet one thing you know about them is that they're really helping change today's WWE days something. I don't know when's the next time we'll see that. The Four Horsewomen did it in NXT to a degree but these dudes are just different. I mean Sasha and Bayley just seem "there."

I'd say that New Day (especially Xavier) has done a lot to change the locker room dynamic, too.

This new generation has done a lot for the locker room to be more relaxed and laidback due to videogames and just having fun. That's what it's about. It feels like there's more unity than ever in this company. I love it.

Of course what Jericho doesn't mention is after after everybody left, poor Tatanka was left to look at the garbage with a tear in his eye. But did he have an October to remember?

It's funny that Orton has become so gravitated too and he's a dude who saw the previous locker room agenda. Helps that he is a guy willing to help young guys too and he himself is only like 37 years old still putting him close to the age of a lot of the "younger guys" tho he has like 15 years of experience
It's funny hearing him tell Xavier that he needs to come on his bus too because him and the Uso's were traveling and just playing games.

On the whole which is worse between Jericho and Punk thing... I've thought for years that Jericho seems very two-faced and self-centered, but at least he can be sociable. Punk just seems like a thoroughly unlikable human being.

Orton really seems to have mellowed with age. It's great to see.

I think Orton has low-key been that kinda guy for a minute now when you remember that he looked out for dudes like Masters, Eugene, and Umaga.

Orton really seems to have mellowed with age. It's great to see. Having his 1st child really slowed him down and then meeting his current wife and essentially taking on her kids as his own has really has made him the person he is today
Helps that he's comfortable in his skin too because a guy at his age and how long he's been on top, if he was Hogan he'd be sabotaging everyone he worked with to make sure he is always on top
Too a fault Randy is sometimes too giving in the ring

On the whole which is worse between Jericho and Punk thing... I've thought for years that Jericho seems very two-faced and self-centered, but at least he can be sociable. Punk just seems like a thoroughly unlikable human being. True, but if you are the panicky type who worries which of the boys are going to stab you in the back, Jericho is a nightmare for you. At least Punk would openly sharpen the blade he intends to stab you with right in front of you. He apparently lacks the social graces required to pretend that he likes you enough to actually betray you. Jericho seems the type to talk Vince into demoting you and then come to you to offer his friendly support. In all honesty, both are probably too toxic for the locker room today. Both were also probably welcome additions to locker rooms in the past to some degree, as those locker rooms struck me as absolutely the worst places to work.
