That heel promo was legitimately the best explanation I’ve ever heard. He snapped. He saw his star was fading as the years progressed and he decided to listen to his “dreams” rather than the chants. A masterclass promo full of rage and bitterness. I also noticed he continued to thank “you.”
I have zero clue if that means he just thanked himself or there’s someone much deeper behind all this. A certain Wyatt perhaps.
Either way, that promo was beautifully done, and I can totally get behind raging psycho Daniel Bryan as the WWE Champion who doesn’t want to let it go.

The THESE PEOPLE shit is really annoying but that's a WWE thing, Bryan's promo overall was fantastic and made me think of Old School Foley a few times.

I got a Tommaso Ciampa vibe from the promo. It was good, and the "these people" worked within the context of what DB was saying.

They better change his title side plates if they are going with the "Yes Movement is dead" thing.

Never been a big DB fan but that was excellent promo and character work. Particularly great character work from him.

They better change his title side plates if they are going with the "Yes Movement is dead" thing. And his entrance graphics, for that matter. What, with said graphics having "YES" all over them and all.

I just want him to change his look now.
For me, his current look represents his 2014 run. I think it’s time he shaves the beard and cuts the hair now. I want Bryan f***ing Danielson.

Even if it’s all bullshit, I heel should believe in his motivations. And DB was totally convincing. Absolutely fantastic promo.

It's crazy what Daniel Bryan has become. Ten years ago the idea of him in WWE would have brought to mind being the most vanilla of midgets. Of a guy who can get over on being the best in-ring but who will always have a pretty low ceiling because he can't cut a promo or he's too short or whatever. But he's ended up not only thriving and becoming as monstrously over as he was, but he's managed to grow into someone who can cut a great promo, can work a character in a way that lets him thrive in a WWE environment... Dude really made something special work and defied expectations.

Once he started talking about himself in the third person, and about never giving up on his dreams, it started sounding like a Cactus Jack promo. Which isn't a bad thing. Great stuff from Bryan after starting off with the "these people" bit.

Man, I really want Bray on on this. Have great chemistry and Bray getting to Bryan with his "They're lying to you man" would be great.

While Bray being the puppetmaster behind Bryan's turn to the darkside would be cool, I think I kinda like Bryan being his own evil man instead.
