This is kinda random I guess but I was just thinking about how alot of bands like, destroy hotel rooms and there instruments on stage and stuff. I mean for real...why? Thats so stupid. Why just destroy perfectly good stuff, the hotel rooms and stuff are even worse because that stuff aint even theres...

I know it was people like The Doors and Jimmy Hendrix that really got the "destroy your shit on stage" thing going. I guess other bands just want to be like them.

When they're breaking nice guitars, that bugs me the most.

My friend said he went to a Weird Al concert and Al destroyed his Piano Accordion when he finished his set. Can anyone else confirm this?

When they're breaking nice guitars, that bugs me the most. Joe Perry would always do this.....but he always grabbed a fake one before he did it. He explains, "We're not talking schizophrenic here, just self-destructive with a sense of humor".

Doesn't it come out of their money anyways? I mean, if I broke a lamp or something at a hotel I'm pretty sure they'd charge me extra.

Not sure if I've ever actually been to a show where the bands trashed their stuff at the end.... so I'm pretty certain it's either a fad that's been adopted by a different genre... or just a few bands still carrying it on.

I've seen Ben Folds smash his keyboard after a show. Thought it was odd...
